‘녹슨 가마안의 고기가 안전한가?’
본문관찰과 묵상
유다왕 여호야긴이 포로로 끌려간지 9년째 되는 해에 바벨론이 예루살렘을 공격했다. 유대인은 자신들이 ‘가마속에 안전한 고기’라고 생각했다. 그러나 그 가마는 녹슨 가마였다.
QT를 통해 듣는 주님의 음성
그들은 이미 정결하지 않았다. 하나님은 많은 나무로 그 녹슨 가마의 녹을 벗겨낼 것이다. 그것이 저들을 향한 심판이다. 그렇게 완전히 태워 정결하게 하심이 하나님의 심판의 특징이다.
결단과 적용
유다가 그 심판을 겪으며 회개했으면 구원을 받았으리라. 그러나 그들은 끝까지 회개하지 않았다. 다른 사람을 볼 필요없다. 비교할 필요도 없다. 내가 주님 앞에서 회개하고 정결함을 받아야 산다. ‘내가 가는 길을 주님이 아시나니 그가 나를 단련하신 후에는 내가 정금이 되어 나오리라!’ (욥 23:10). 나를 연단하소서! 정금되리라!
‘Is the chosen meat safe in the rusty pot?’
Eze 24:1-14
Observation and meditation on the text
In the 9th year after King Zedikiah was taken into Babylonian captivity, Babylon attacked Jerusalem again. The Jews thought they were ‘the chosen pieces of meat in the safe pot.’ However, the pot was a rusty pot.
I hear the voice of the Lord through QT
The Jews were not consecrated to God. God would purify the rusty pot with strong fire by the pile of the wood, which would be God’s judgment. God purifies sinners by melting their impurities, which is one of the characteristics of God’s judgment.
Decisions and applications
If Judah repented of their sins through God’s purification process, they could have been saved. However, they were stubborn enough not to repent. I don’t need to judge others, nor compare them with others. I must be purified and sanctified again to be revived. ‘God knows the way that I take; when he has tested me, I will come forth as pure gold’ (Job. 23:10). Purify me in the furnace, Lord, so that I may come out as pure gold!
