‘하나님의 열심은 심판과 회복이다’
본문관찰과 묵상
하나님의 열심은 공의와 정의의 심판을 이룬다. 택한 백성이라도 불신자보다 더 악한 죄에 빠지면 머리털과 수염을 밀어 수치를 당해 전염병과 기근과 칼로 망하게 하고 다 흩어져 디아스포라 되게 한다.

그러나 하나님의 열심은 ‘남은자’를 통해 택한 백성을 징계한후에 다시 회복시키신다. 멸시와 조롱거리가 되게 하지만 또 한편 하나님의 경고를 통해 두려워하게 한다.
결단과 적용
나를 향한 하나님의 열심은 나의 죄에 대한 심판과 연단후에 구원하심이다. 그 하나님의 열심은 자신을 성육신 해 한 아기로 우리에게 오신 예수 그리스도다 (사 9:6-7). 나는 오늘도 예수 그리스도의 죽으심과 부활에 동참하여 계속 회복하며 산다.
‘God’s zeal brings about judgment and salvation through the remnant’

Observation and meditation on the text
The zeal of God always brings about God’s judgment according to his justice and righteousness. Even though the Judeans were the chosen people, God judged them so that they might be shamed in all nations by shaving their head and beard, or by the plague and famine, or by the sword, or by being scattered as diasporas because they rebelled against God more than the surrounding nations.

At the same time, the zeal of God never fails to restore the chosen people after disciplining them through ‘the remnant,’ ‘a few hairs.’ God let the chosen ones to be ridiculed and disdained for a while. At the same time, God let all nations to fear of God as they witness the result of disregarding God’s disciplines and warnings.
Decisions and applications
God’s zeal for me is a never-ending story; God judges my sins and keep on disciplining, and in his time, God keeps on delivering me from the bottomless pit. The acme of the zeal of God is Jesus Christ, who is the incarnated Godself, who has come to me as a baby born of the Holy Spirit through human being (Isa 9:6-7). Therefore, I keep on participating in the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ so that I may keep on living sanctified and consecrated life today.
