‘다시는 죄의 종 노릇 하지 않는 이유’
본문관찰과 묵상
은혜를 넘치게 하려고 죄를 짓지 않는다. 그리스도 예수와 함께 세례 받은 자는 죄에 대해 죽고 부활에 참여하여 의에 대해 살았다. 나의 옛사람이 죽고 새 사람이 된 자는 죄의 종 노릇 하지 않는다.

베드로도 예수와 함께 정과 욕을 십자가에 못박아 옛사람을 죽인 자는 늘 짓던 죄가 그친다고 했다. 그 후로는 다시 사람의 정욕을 따 라 살지 않고 하나님의 뜻을 따라 육체의 남은 때를 산다(벧전 4:1-2)
결단과 적용
‘너희가 육신대로 살면 반드시 죽지만 성령의 능력으로 육신의 행 실을 죽이면 살리라 무릇 하나님의 영으로 인도함을 받는 자들이 거듭난 하나님의 자녀다 (롬 8:13-14). 죄를 죽이면 내가 살고 그렇지 않으면 죄가 나를 죽인다. 성령의 능력으로 죄를 되풀어 짓지 않고 구별된 삶을 살게 하소서!

Observation and meditation on the text
I can’t increase sins to have more God’s grace. If I am baptized with Jesus Christ, I am dead to sins and alive to his righteousness by uniting with his resurrection. Since I am dead to my old-self and become a new man in Jesus I no longer live as a slave of sin.
I hear the voice of the Lord through QT
Peter also declared that if I have crucified my fleshly desires and covetousness of my old-self with Jesus, I am done with my sin. As a result I do not live the rest of my earthly life for evil human desires, but rather for the will of God (I Pet. 4:1-2).
Decisions and applications
‘If you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body you will live. For those who are born again and led by the Spirit of God are the children of God’ (Rom. 8:13-14). If I crucify sins, I shall live. If not, sin will destroy me. Lord, please empower me not to repeat sins by the power of the Holy Spirit so that I may live a differentiated and consecrated life!
