‘내 마음에 둔 우상이 걸림돌이 된다’
본문관찰과 묵상
에스겔을 찾아온 두 장로는 그 마음에 우상을 두었다. 마음에 하나님 대신 둔 모든 것이 우상이다. 우상을 섬기는 자는 그것이 걸림돌이 되어 하나님을 배반한 죄로 멸망을 당한다.
QT를 통해 듣는 주님의 음성
하나님을 믿는 믿음으로 구하지 않고 의심으로 구하니 마음에 하나님과 우상을 둔 자는 ‘두 마음을 품어 모든 일에 정함이 없는 자’(약 1:8)다. 응답 받지 못한다.
결단과 적용
선지자를 찾는 자나 거짓 예언하는 선지자는 그 죄악이 동일하여 다 멸망한다. ‘옛적에 선지자들을 통하여 여러 부분과 여러 모양 으로 우리 조상들에게 말씀하신 하나님이 이 모든 날 마지막에는 아들을 통해 우리에게 말씀하셨다’ (히 1:1-2). 선지자를 찾아 다니지 말고 예수 그리스도의 말씀을 찾아 먹어야 내가 산다.
‘If I set up idols in my heart, it will be stumbling blocks before me’

Observation and meditation on the text
Some of the elders who came to Ezekiel had set up idols in their hearts. All things I may set up in my heart beside God are my idols. And if I serve the idols, it will be stumbling blocks before me, and I should be destroyed because I betray God.
I hear the voice of the Lord through QT
If I pray to God not by faith but by doubt because I set up idols in my heart, ‘I am a double-minded person and unstable in all I may do’ (Jas 1:8). I should not expect to receive answer to my prayers from God.
Decisions and applications
The prophet will bear the same guilt as the one who consults him, and they should be destroyed. ‘In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days God has spoken to us by his Son’ (Heb 1:1-2). I will be alive by seeking for the words of Jesus Christ and eat them as my spiritual food instead of searching for any prophets.
