‘하나님의 영광을 위해 나를 구원한다’
본문관찰과 묵상
이스라엘의 장로들이 하나님께 물으려 왔지만 하나님은 응답하지 않았다. 하나님은 애굽에서 조상들을 구원해낸 이유가 저들의 우상숭배로 더렵혀진 하나님의 영광을 위해서였다 말했다.
QT를 통해 듣는 주님의 음성
나는 하나님께 신실하지 못했지만 하나님은 신실하게 나를 구원하셨다. 이방인 앞에서 나를 구원하신 것은 나로 이방인 앞에서 하나님의 이름을 욕되게 하지 않기 위함이었다.
결단과 적용
나를 구원하신 하나님은 하나님의 거룩하신 이름의 영광을 위함 이다. 내가 죄를 지으면 이방인 앞에 내가 믿는 하나님의 이름이 더럽혀진다. 내가 하나님을 잘 섬겨 살면 주의 이름이 영광 받는다. 오늘도 사람이 보던 안보던 주님만을 섬기며 증거하며 살리라!
‘God saves me for the glory of His name’
Eze 20:1-9
Observation and meditation on the text
Some of the elders of Israel came to Ezekiel to inquire of the Lord, but God did not respond to them. God declared that it was for the glory of God’s name to deliver their ancestors from Egyptian bondage because God’s name was profaned by their idolatry among the gentiles.
I hear the voice of the Lord through QT
I have not been faithful to the Lord all the time, but God has delivered me from my sins faithfully. God has delivered me from eternal death because God did not want his name would be profaned among the gentiles by my idolatry.
Decisions and applications
God has saved me from my sins for the sake of God’s glory of his holy name. If I commit sins among the nonbelievers, then it will bring about shame on God’s holy name whom I believe. On the contrary, if I obey and serve the Lord, then his name shall be glorified even among the nonbelievers. Therefore, today, whether people see me or not, I will faithfully serve and witness my Savior and Lord Jesus Christ.
