‘승리주신 하나님과 군인과 회중에 감사하라’
본문 관찰과 묵상
승리후 하나님은 감사를 가르칩니다. 첫째, 전리품의 반은 전쟁에 나갔던 군인에게, 반은 회중에게 주었다. 군인은 받은 것의 5백분의 1을 거제로 제사장에게, 회중은 50분의 1을 레위인에게 주었다. 군인은 생명을 지켜주신 하나님께 금패물을 드렸다.
QT를 통해 듣는 주님의 음성
그리스도인은 승리를 주신 하나님께 감사 할 줄 알아야 한다. 전쟁에 나간 군인과 저들을 위해 기도한 회중들은 하나님께 감사를 드렸다. 군인들은 스스로 금패물을 드려 이스라엘 자손의 기념이 되게 했다.
결단과 적용
나와 나의 자손 대대로 하나님께 감사와 순종을 가르쳐야 한다. ‘나의 나됨은 하나님의 은혜요’ (고전 15:10) 의 고백과 더불어 나의 삶에 승리를 주시는 하나님과 나를 위해 기도해 주시는 성도들에게 감사 할 줄 알아야 한다. 그리고 자손 대대로 기념이 되게 하리라!
‘Give thanks to God, soldiers, assembly who give us victory.’
Num 31:25-54
Observation and meditation on the text
God taught the Israelites how to give thanks to God upon their victory over the Midianites. First, God ordered them to divide the spoils equally between the soldiers who had participated in the battle and the assembly who had prayed for them. Then, soldiers should give tribute out of their share for the Lord one out of every five hundred to the priest. The assembly should give one out of every fifty to the Levites. And the soldiers voluntarily gave all the gold articles they took as plunder for himself as sin offering to the Lord out of gratitude to God for protecting their lives in the battle.
I hear the voice of the Lord through QT
Christians must practice how to give thanks to God for giving us the ultimate victory. All the soldiers who went into the battle and the assembly who had prayed for them gave thanks to God. The soldiers gave all the gold articles they plundered from the enemies as sin offering so that it might become the memorial for the Israelites before God.
Decisions and applications
I must teach my descendants how to give thanks to the Lord willingly in obedience. I must practice to give thanks to God with my confession, ‘by God’s grace I am what I am’ (I Co 15:10) and to the fellow Christians and church members who are praying for me so that it may be a memorial for our descendants before God from generation to generation.
