‘성령은 저주를 축복으로 바꾸는 능력이다.’
본문 관찰과 묵상
모압왕 발락은 발람을 광야만 보이는 브올산 꼭대기로 데려갔다. 그러나 발람에게 성령이 임하자 발람은 저주를 막고 이스라엘이 광야에서도 강가의 동산 같은 축복을 받을 것을 예언케 하셨다.
QT를 통해 듣는 주님의 음성
택함받은 하나님의 백성은 열악한 환경에 처해진다 해도 하나님이 함께 하심으로 강가의 동산처럼 번성할 것이다. 이스라엘은 사자처럼 강할 것이고 아브라함에게 주신 언약은 계속 성취될 것이다. 성령의 능력으로 약하지만 강하게 살게 하신다.
결단과 적용
내가 처한 환경과 핍박이 아무리 센 것 같아도 하나님이 나와 함께 하시니 두려울 것이 없다. 하나님이 함께 하시면 광야에 길이, 사막에 샘이 솟아나게 하사 나를 통해 하나님의 뜻은 성취되리라! 오늘도 그 언약을 믿는 믿음으로 나는 세상을 이기며 살아간다.

Observation and meditation on the text
Balak king of Moab took Balaam to the top of the mountain Peor, which commanded a good view over the hopeless wilderness. However, when the Holy Spirit fell upon him, Balaam prophesied God’s blessings upon the Israelites; cursing was transformed to the prophesy of God’s blessings that the Israelites would be prosperous like garden beside river in the wilderness.
I hear the voice of the Lord through QT
The chosen people of God would be prosperous like garden beside a river in the rugged surroundings because they will be under God’s sovereign care and reign. The Israelites will be as strong as lions because God’s covenant with Abraham will continually fulfilled through his descendants. By the power of the Holy Spirit, they will become strong even though they look weak.
Decisions and applications
No matter how seriously my surroundings seem to get deteriorated by severe afflictions, I am free from any fear because God is with me. If God is with me, he will bring about a way in the wilderness, and water will gush forth and streams flow in the desert. God will complete God’s will through me. Therefore, today I will win the victory over the sinful world by my faith in Jesus Christ who has won the victory ultimately for me.
