‘이방신도 주의 다스림을 받는다’
본문 관찰과 묵상
발락이 발람을 바알의 산당에서 바알에게 드리는 제사형태를 취해 이스라엘을 저주하게 했다. 그러나 그 우상도, 우상을 섬기는 자도 절대주권자 하나님의 뜻을 꺽지 못했다.
QT를 통해 듣는 주님의 음성
오히려 복채에 팔려가 두 마음을 품고 눈치 보던 발람도 하나님의 절대주권의 말씀으로 저주대신 이스라엘의 축복을 선포했다. 그리고 자신도 의인의 죽음을 죽기 원한다고 선포했다.
결단과 적용
마귀를 비롯한 이 땅의 모든 우상과 잡신들도 절대주권자 하나님의 통치를 받는다. 별별 수단을 다 써서 나를 죽이려 하는 세력이 판을 쳐도 하나님은 공의와 정의로 심판할 것이다. 그리고 나는 예수의 십자가의 길을 가니 나도 예수처럼 죽으며 나를 핍박하고 욕한 사람들을 다 용서하며 가리라!

Num 22:41-23:12
Observation and meditation on the text
Balak had Balaam curse the Israelites by offering sacrifices according to the law of the idol worship. However, such idols, and idol worshipers could not override God’s sovereignty.
I hear the voice of the Lord through QT
Surprisingly, Balaam who was sold by rewards out of covetousness as an opportunist declared God’s blessings upon the Israelites by the power of God’s sovereignty. Furthermore, he declared that he also wanted to die the death of the righteous.
Decisions and applications
God reigns over all creations and creatures including Satan, all kinds of evil spirits with God’s sovereign power. No matter how hardly and wickedly the evil spirits may gang upon me to destroy me, I have assurance that God is going to judge them by his righteousness and justice. Therefore, no matter what may happen to me in the future, I will simply take up my cross and follow the way of Jesus to be crucified but to forgive my persecutors as I have done in the past.
