‘높은자가 낮은자를 섬기듯이 서로 섬기라’
본문관찰과 묵상
세족식을 마친후 예수는 제자들이 서로가 서로에게 겸손히 섬겨주는 사람이 되라했다. 예수님의 행위는 OJT로 제자들이 따라 하게 하셨다. 그러나 배반자가 나오리니 놀라지 말고 그 배반자를 통해 예수가 죽어야 죄인이 산다는 것을 그날에 믿게 하려함이라 했다.
QT를 통하여 듣는 주님의 음성
예수가 보내는 자를 영접하는 자는 예수를 영접하는자요 예수를 영접하는 자는 예수를 보내신 하나님을 영접하는것이라고 했다. 당시 철저한 계급사회에서 높은자가 낮은자를 섬긴 것은 바로 하나님 나라의 질서요 법칙이었다.
결단과 적용
30년 목회와 선교를 통해 아내와 전심을 다해 섬겼다. 선교지의 낮은 사람들을 예수님의 마음과 사랑으로 섬겼다. 성도들을 낮은자리에서 섬겼다. 그러나 늘 배반자는 있다. 놀랠일도 아니다. 그런 배반자가 있어야 나는 나의 가는 길을 주님을 배반하지 않고 끝까지 가는 이유와 원리를 배운다. 오늘도 예수를 증거하며 산다.

Observation and meditation on the text
When Jesus had finished washing the feet of his disciples, Jesus told them to serve for one another in humility. Whatever Jesus did was On the Job Training so that his disciples should learn how and what to do. At the same time, Jesus warned them there would be a betrayer. However, Jesus told them not to be dismayed, but to believe in Jesus when Jesus was crucified by realizing that sinners should be saved because Jesus died due to the betrayer who fulfilled the prophecy.

Jesus said that whoever received those whom he sent would receive him. And whoever accepted Jesus would be the ones who accepted God who sent Jesus. Such an exemplary service was an extraordinary thing because it was the order and rule for God’s kingdom. On the contrary, in Jesus’ time social tradition was a heavily hierarchical one
Decisions and applications
For the last 30 years, I have dedicated my life to serving church and people with my wife. In the mission field, we served the poor and unlearned with the love of Jesus Christ. We have always served them in humility. However, there has been a betrayer all the time. Therefore, I am not surprised by Judas Iscariot. Through such betrayers, I have learned the reason and principles of Jesus so that I may not fall into betrayal. Therefore, I keep on witnessing Jesus Christ in my daily life.
