‘이 때는 하나님의 영광을 위해 죽을때다’
본문관찰과 묵상
예수는 하나님의 때, 곧 인자가 영광을 얻을 때, 즉 십자가에서 죽으실 때가 왔다고 했다. 한 알의 밀이 땅에 떨어져 죽어 많은 열매를 맺을 것을 말했다. 이를 위하여 이때에 왔다고 했다.
QT를 통하여 듣는 주님의 음성
하나님도 이미 예수를 영광스럽게 했고 앞으로도 영광스럽게 하리라고 말했다. 사람들은 천둥소리인가 천사의 말인가 했다. 예수는 이는 구원받을 사람들을 위한 말이라고 했다. 예수가 죽고 부활해 왕이 되고 이 세상의 임금들은 심판을 받을 것이다. 인자는 빛이요 빛이 있을동안에 빛을 믿어 빛의 아들들이 되라고 예수는 말했다.
결단과 적용
나는 왜 이 때에 사는가? 빛이신 예수를 믿어 빛의 아들도 살때다. 인간적인 때를 살지 말고 하나님의 때를 살아야 한다. 빛이신 예수 그리스도를 증거하며 사는 것이 이 때에 내가 주님께 영광돌리며 사는 것이다. 내게 맡겨주신 이 사명을 기쁨으로 감당하며 내가 잘 죽어야 하나님의 영광이 나를 통해 나타나고 내게도 영광의 영이 충만하리라!

Observation and meditation on the text
Jesus declared that it was the very hour for God, for the Son of Man should be glorified, to be crucified. Unless a kernel of wheat fell to the ground and died, it would remain only a single seed. But if it died, it would produce many seeds. He declared that for that very reason, he came to this hour.
I hear the voice of the Lord through QT
At that moment there was God’s voice from heaven that God had already glorified Jesus and should glorify him in the future. People wondered whether the sound was a thunder or the voice of an angel. Jesus declared that the voice was for people to be saved. Jesus would become the king of kings upon his resurrection after being crucified, and the kings of the world should be judged. Since the Son of Man was Light, Jesus declared people should believe in the Light while they had Light so that they might become the children of Light.
Decisions and applications
Why do I live at this very hour? It is the very reason for me to believe in Jesus to live as a son of Light. I must live God’s time, not my own time. If I witness Jesus who is Light, I glorify the Lord at this very hour. God’s glory will be revealed to the world and it will be on me too as long as I witness Jesus who is Light, which God has commissioned to me to do.
