‘복음의 빚진 자는 어떻게 빛을 갚나?’
본문관찰과 묵상
바울은 자신이 복음의 빚진 자라고 고백했다. 로마의 이방인 중에서 믿는 자들이 있음을 알고 감사로 저들을 위해 기도했다. 저들을 만나 믿음을 견고케 하고 열매를 맺도록 만남을 원했다.
QT를 통해 듣는 주님의 음성
복음을 거부하던 자가 복음으로 구원받았으니 모든 사람들에게 복음의 빚진 자로서 복음을 전하기를 부끄러워하지 않았다. 그 복음은 믿는 자에게 하나님의 능력 이 된다. 또 하나님의 의인 예수 그리스도가 나타나 그를 믿는 믿음에 이르게 하여 구원받게 한다.
결단과 적용
나도 복음의 빚진 자다. 모든 사람에게 복음을 전해줌으로 그 빚을 갚는다. 복음으로 저들의 믿음을 견고하게 해주고 열매를 맺도록 도움으로 빚을 갚는다. 오직 의인은 믿음으로 인해 산다. 내가 믿고 구원받은 하나님의 의인 그리스도를 전하며 살리라!
‘How can a debtor of the gospel defray his debts?’
Rom. 1:8-17
Observation and meditation on the text
Paul confessed that he was obligated to all people to pay his debts of the gospel. He gave thanks to God and prayed for the believers in Rome, which was the territory of the gentiles. He wanted to meet them and pay his debts of the gospel to them by strengthening their faith to bear fruit of their faith.
I hear the voice of the Lord through QT
He was not ashamed the of the gospel because he was an opponent of the gospel but saved by the gospel ironically, which was the power of God, and now he became an exponent of the gospel who was a debtor of the gospel. And in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed, who is Jesus Christ so that by faith in him he may be saved.
Decisions and applications
I am another debtor of the gospel. I can defray my debts by witnessing Jesus Christ who is the gospel. I also can pay my debts by strengthening their faith by giving some spiritual gift so that they may bear the fruit of faith. ‘The righteous will live by faith.’ Therefore, today I also pay my debt by witnessing Jesus.
