유대인은 자신의 행위를 자랑하다 의에 이르지 못했다. 오직 소수의 남은자만 믿음으로 구원받는다. 의로운 행위가 없던 이방인 은 오직 믿음으로 구원을 받았다.
QT 를 통해 듣는 주님의 음성
예수는 율법의 행위로 의롭다고 하는 자에게 걸림돌과 거치는 바위가 되었다. 의로운 행위가 없어 오직 예수를 믿는 자는 예수가 디딤돌과 반석이 되어 구원을 얻는다. 나에게 예수는 걸림돌인가? 아니면 반석인가?
결단과 적용
‘사람이 의롭다 하심을 얻는 것은 율법의 행위에 있지 않고 믿음으로 되는 줄 우리가 인정하노라’ (롬 3:28). 나의 행위를 자랑하면 못 지킨 행위로 나는 넘어진다. 율법을 지키지 못한 나는 회개함으로 예수가 나를 위한 화목제물로 죽으심을 믿어 의롭다 함을 얻었다. 오직 의인은 믿음으로 말미암아 살리라 (롬 1:17).

Observation and meditation on the text
The Jews who boasted of righteous deeds never attained righteousness. Only a few remnant Jews were saved by their faith. The gentiles who did not have any righteous deeds attained salvation not by deeds but by faith in Jesus Christ.
I hear the voice of the Lord through QT
Jesus has become a stumbling block and a rock that makes those who boast of deeds fall. On the contrary, Jesus has becomes a stepping stone and rock for those who believe in Jesus as Christ for salvation. Is Jesus the stumbling block or the stepping stone to me?
Decisions and applications
‘We maintain that a person is justified by faith apart from the works of the law’ (Rom. 3:28). If I boast of my good deeds, I shall fall when I fail to do good deeds. If I fail to keep the law I repent of my sins and accept Jesus as the peace offering for me, I shall be justified and saved not by my deeds but by my faith in Jesus as Christ. ‘The righteous will live by faith’ (Rom. 1:17).
