‘아브라함은 많은 민족의 조상이 되었다’
본문관찰과 묵상
아브라함은 무할례 시에 믿음으로 의롭다 칭함을 받았다. 그후 그가 할례의 표를 받은 것은 무할례 시에 믿음으로 된 의를 인 친 것이다. 상속자가 되는 것은 은혜에 속하기 위해 믿음으로 된다.
QT를 통해 듣는 주님의 음성
그러므로 아브라함은 모든 믿는 자들의 조상이다. 율법에 속한 할례자 에게도 또 무할례 자에게도 죽은 자를 살리시며 없는 것을 있는 것으로 부르시는 하나님을 믿는 모든 자에게 믿음의 조상이다.
결단과 적용
나도 믿음으로 아브라함의 후손이 되었다. ‘하나님이 이 돌들로도 아브라함의 자손이 되게 하시리라’ (마 3:9). 아브라함과 믿음의 후손들이 하나님의 상속자가 되게 하셨다. ‘자녀이면 상속자 곧 하나님의 상속자요 그리스도와 함께 한 상속자니 우리가 그와 함께 영광을 받기 위하여 고난도 함께 받아야 할 것이니라’ (롬 8:17).

Observation and meditation on the text
Abraham was credited as righteous when he was uncircumcised. And he received circumcision as a sign, a seal of the righteousness that he had by faith while he was still uncircumcised. To be God’s heirs I must be God’s child by faith so that it may be by grace and guaranteed to all Abraham’s offspring.

Therefore, Abraham is the father of all who believe in God. He has become the father of faith not only for the circumcised but also uncircumcised who believe in God who gives life the dead and calls into being somethings that were not.
Decisions and applications
I have become a descendant of Abraham by faith in God. Jesus declared that ‘out of these stones God can raise up children for Abraham’ (Matt. 3:9). God made Abraham and his descendants by faith heirs of God. ‘Now if we are children, then we are heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory’ (Rom. 8:17).
