‘두여인 오홀라와 오홀리바의 비유’

오홀라 는 ‘그녀의 장막’ 이란 뜻으로 사마리아를 말한다. 오홀리바는 ‘그녀안의 장막’ 이란 뜻으로 예루살렘을 말한다. 그러 사마리아는 앗수르와 간음하고 오홀리바는 바벨론과 간음했다.

하나님을 섬겨야 할 그리스도인이 하나님의 자리에 그 어떤 것을 놓고 섬기면 그것이 우상이요, 그것이 영적간음이다. 이스라엘은 애굽과 앗수르 와, 유다는 애굽과 바벨론을 섬기다 그들에게 망했다.
결단과 적용
나의 삶에 하나님보다 더 귀히 여기는 것들이 있는가? 무너뜨려 주소서! 내가 하나님보다 더 귀하게 여기는 것들이 우상이요 그 우상들이 결국 나를 망하게 하는 것이다. 교회는 사람이 우상이 되어서는 안된다. 오직 하나님이 영광 받으시는 교회되게 하소서!

Observation and meditation on the text
Oholah means ‘her temple,’ and it means Samaria. Oholibah means ‘the temple in her,’ and it means Jerusalem. However, Samaria committed spiritual adultery with Assyria, and Oholibah with Babylon respectively.
I hear the voice of the Lord through QT
As a Christian if I serve anything else beside the Lord, what -ever that may be, that is my idol, and I am committing spiritual adultery. Israel served Egypt and Samaria, and they were destroyed by them while Judah served Egypt and Babylon, and they were destroyed by them too.
Decisions and applications
Is there anything which I value more than God? Lord, destroy them if there is any such things in my heart. All the things I may put more value than God is my idol, and it will destroy me eventually. In Christ’s church, any person should not be idols to be worshiped because it will destroy Christ’ church. Lord, let your church be the one who lets God be glorified only forever!
