요시아 왕의 아들 여호아하스(살룸)은 23세에 왕이 되어 3달 다스리다 애굽의 바로 느고에 잡혀가 그곳에서 죽는다. 그의 형 여호야김이25세에 왕 되어 바벨론에 포로로 끌려간다.

그의 아들 여호야긴(고니야/여고니아)이 18세에 왕이 되어 3달 통치하다 바벨론에 그의 어머니와 함께 포로로 끌려가 37년동안 옥살이한다. 바벨론왕이 그의 숙부 시드기야가 21세때 왕으로 세워 11년간 다스리다 망했다.
결단과 적용
물가에 심겨진 포도나무 같았던 예루살렘이 뽑혀서 땅에 던져 졌고 불이 태웠다. 더 이상 왕이 될 가지가 없어 예루살렘은 망했다. 유다의 마지막 왕 3대가 다 우상숭배로 망했다. 나는 믿음의 5대 손이다. 6대, 7대인 나의 아들, 손자들이 믿음을 지키게 기도한다.

Observation and meditation on the text
Jehoahaz (Shallum), the 4th son of Josiah was enthroned at 23 and ruled Jerusalem for 3 months. He was taken into Egyptian captivity by the Pharaoh and died there. Josiah’s 2nd son Jehoiakim succeeded him at 25, and he was taken into Babylonian captivity.

Jehoiakim’s son Jehoiachin (Heb: Choniah, or Jechoniah) was enthroned at 18 and reigned in Jerusalem for 3 months. He and his mother were taken into Babylonian captivity and incarcerated for 37 years there. The king of Babylon enthroned Zedekiah, his uncle, at 21 and ruled over Jerusalem for 11 years until Jerusalem was destroyed.
Decisions and applications
Jerusalem, who was prosperous like a vine in the King’s vineyard by water, should be uprooted and thrown on the ground and burned. There was no qualified branch to be enthroned in Jerusalem, she was destroyed. The last 3 kings in David’s dynasty were destroyed by their idol worship, mightier nations like Egypt and Babylon. I am the 5th generation of faithful Christian family. I pray for my children and grandchildren so that the 6th and the 7th spiritual genealogy may be continued.
