‘이루지 못하는 꿈 한 가지가 있다’
본문관찰과 묵상
하나님의 말씀을 버리고 조상들이 행한 영적 간음, 즉 높은 곳 산당 (바마)에서 우상숭배한 이스라엘에게는 결코 이루지 못하는 꿈 한가지가 있다. 자식까지 우상에 바치는 자는 무슨 일을 해도 그의 꿈을 이루지 못한다.
QT를 통해 듣는 주님의 음성
우상숭배 하는 부모를 따라 자신도 우상숭배 하는 사람들이 있다. 우상숭배 하는 부모를 보고 절대로 하나님만 섬기는 사람들도 있다. 죽은 우상에게 자식을 바쳐도 내 원하는 꿈은 결코 이루지 못한다.
결단과 적용
죽은 우상을 섬기고 꿈꾸는 자에게 죽은 우상은 응답하지 못한다. 살아 계신 하나님께 간구하는 자는 하나님이 그 꿈을 이루어 주신다. ‘나의 나 됨은 하나님의 은혜라’ (고전 15:10). ‘하나님을 기다리고 기도하는 영혼들에게 하나님은 선하시다. 사람이 여호와의 구원을 바라고 기다림이 좋도다’ (애가 3:25-26). 나는 오늘도 잠잠히 주님만을 바라며 기다리며 산다. 평안이 넘친다. 할렐루야!
‘One thing which cannot be done even if I wish’

Observation and meditation on the text
There should be one thing Israel could not accomplish even though they dreamed about it whatsoever that might be because they deserted God by committing spiritual adultery through idol worship at the high place (Bama) as Israel had learned and copied from their ancestors’ practices. Whatsoever we pray and ask the dead idols as we sacrificed our own children as offerings, our wishes and dreams cannot be accomplished by the dead idols.
I hear the voice of the Lord through QT
There are some who have become the idolaters as they have learned from their ancestors. However, there are some who serve God only as they have learned from their idol worshiping ancestors. Even though I sacrifice my own children as offering to the idols, they cannot fulfill my dream because they are dead.
Decisions and applications
Those who dream for their life as they worship dead idols will experience the vanity of idol worship because their idols are dead. If I pray to the living God, God answers my prayers.
‘By the grace of God, I am what I am’ (I Co. 15:10). ‘The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him; it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord’ (Lam. 3:25-26). Therefore, today, I am longing for the Lord quietly. I am in extreme peace in Jesus. Halleluiah!!
