‘광야에서 살린 출애굽 2세대를 흩으신 이유’
본문관찰과 묵상
애굽에서 구원한 출애굽 1세대에게 하나님은 율례와 규례를 주었다. 그러나 그들은 광야에서 하나님을 배반했다. 이방인 앞에 서 하나님이름을 더럽히지 않으려 가나안에 못 들어오게 했다.
QT를 통해 듣는 주님의 음성
그러나 출애굽 2세대는 살렸다. 조상들을 따라 우상 숭배하며 살지 말고 구원받은 백성이니 율례와 규례를 지켜 거룩한 삶을 살라고 했지만 2세대도 반역했다. 그들을 흩어 멸망시킴으로 하나님은 정의와 공의의 하나님이심을 천하에 알게했다.
결단과 적용
하나님이 주신 모든 율례와 율법은 구원의 조건이 아니라 구원 받은 사람들이 마땅히 스스로 거룩하게 자신들을 구별해 하나님 중심으로 살게 하시는 하나님의 축복이다. 이를 지키며 산다.

Observation and meditation on the text
God gave God’ decrees and Laws to the 1st generation whom God had delivered from Egyptian bondage. However, they betrayed God in the wilderness by worshiping idols. Therefore, God forbade them to enter the promised land of Canaan not to profane God’s name among the gentiles.
I hear the voice of the Lord through QT
However, God saved the 2nd generation of the Exodus out of mercy. Even though God challenged and encouraged them to live a differentiated life by obeying God’s decrees and laws as God’ saved people, they did betrayed God too. Therefore, God declared that they should be destroyed by being scattered all over the nations so that people might realize that God was God of justice and righteousness in all nations.
Decisions and applications
All the decrees and laws of God were not given as the prerequisite for salvation but the blessings for the saved people to live a differentiated God-centered life by themselves. Therefore, it is not a burden but a joy to me to obey them today!
