죄인의 괴수라고 스스로 밝힌 바울이 디모데에게 자신이 그리스도의 일꾼이 된 것은 예수가 그를 믿어 주었기 때문이라고 했다. 그후 하나님은 바울이 모든 믿는 자들에게 롤 모델이 되게 했다.
QT를 통해 듣는 주님의 음성
내가 주님이 나를 믿어 주신 만큼 주님께 은혜를 어떻게 갚을 수 있을까? 첫째, 나의 변화된 삶을 보고 사람들이 예수께 나오는 믿음과 착한 양심의 본이 되는 것이다. 둘째, 나를 변화시킨 주님께 존귀와 영광을 올려드린다. 셋째, 차세대 리더들도 악한 영과 유혹을 이기며 말씀과 기도로 선한 싸움을 싸우는 디모데를 길러낸다.
결단과 적용
나의 억울함과 무시당함과 욕을 먹음은 이미 십자가에서 예수와 함께 죽었기에 말없이 십자가 지고 조용히 주를 따른다. 그렇게 믿음의 본이 되게 하시고 거짓을 버리고 일용할 양식으로 하루 하루 선한 양심을 가지고 살게 하소서 (아굴의 잠언 30:7-8).

Observation and meditation on the text
Paul who confessed that he was the worst sinner, wrote a letter to Timothy that it was Jesus who trusted and appointed him to be a servant of Christ even though he was not qualified. From that time on God had used Paul as a role model for those who would believe in him and receive eternal life.
I hear the voice of the Lord through QT
How can I pay back God’s grace as much as I have received from him who considered me trustworthy to become a servant of Christ when I was not qualified? First, I can do it as I live by faith with a good conscience so that I may become an example for people who would believe in him and receive eternal life. Second, I give all the honor and glory only to Jesus who has transformed my life. Third, I will discipline the next generation leaders so that they may overcome temptations and evil spirits by fighting a good fight with the living word of God and prayers so that many Timothys might be produced.
Decisions and applications
I can quietly follow Jesus as I take my cross everyday despite injustice, ridicules, and insults because I have already been crucified with Jesus Christ. Please help me Lord, so that I can continually set an example of faith, and live with a good conscience by keeping falsehood and lies far from me and live by a daily bread (Agur’s psalm 30:7-8).
