‘죄는 영원히 숨겨지지 않기에 회개해야 한다’

목사나 장로에 대한 고발은 두세증인이 없으면 받지 말아야한다. 중상모략이 있기 때문이다. 범죄한 목사나 장로는 공개적, 공의적 으로 꾸짖어 일벌백계 한다. 경솔하게 목사, 장로 직을 주지말라.

리더의 죄는 공동체에 미치는 영향이 크다. 그러므로 공개적으로 공의와 정의로 판단해서 모든 성도들이 이해하게 해야 한다. 죄와 선행은 감추어도 하나님의 때가 되면 다 드러난다. 분별해 살라!
결단과 적용
바울은 디모데에게 자주 나는 병을 위해 포도주를 약으로 쓰게 했다. 왜? 육신이 약해지면 영력도 약해지기 때문이다. 지난 7년여 동안 육신의 연약함과 더불어 영적인 허탈감도 느꼈다. 그러나 합력해 선을 이루시는 하나님 앞에 죄는 철저히 회개하며 하나님의 때를 기다리며 묵묵히 십자가 지고 간다. 때가 되면 다 드러나리라!

Observation and meditation on the text
Church should never entertain an accusation against a pastor or an elder unless it is brought by 2 or 3 witnesses because there are many false accusations. However, if a pastor or elder is found guilty, he should be judged in public by justice and righteousness for a lesson for everyone. Therefore, it is critically important not to ordain a pastor or elder lightly without a very close probe and scrutiny.
I hear the voice of the Lord through QT
The negative impact of sins of any leader in a community is beyond description. Therefore, their sins must be judged openly and righteously so that every Christian must understand justly. Even though I try to hide my sins or good deeds, when God’s time comes everything will be revealed in public by God. I must live by such a spirit of discernment.
Decisions and applications
Paul encouraged Timothy to take a little wine as a medicine for his chronic illnesses. Why? Because if I am weak physically, it may weaken my spiritual health too. As for me, due to my physical illnesses, I have experienced not only physical weaknesses but also spiritual emptiness from time to time for the last 7 years. However, by the grace of God who works for the good in all things for those who love him I am empowered enough to repent of my sins and wait for God’s time in the middle of all kinds of false accusations so that I may take up my cross and follow Jesus every moment. I am sure God will reveal the truth in his time.
