‘악인의 형통을 보지 말고 예수를 보라!’
본문 관찰과 묵상
악인의 형통함을 바라볼 때 시편기자는 실족 할뻔했다. 왜 의인은 깨끗하게 살아도 고통을 당하고 불의한자는 교만으로 살아도 형통하고 부요 하게 사는가? 나는 왜 계속 재난을 당하나?
QT를 통해 듣는 주님의 음성
악인과 선인 모두 하나님의 통치권아래서 산다. 진정한 의인은 그런 가운데서 실족하지 않는다. 왜? 믿음의 주요 온전케 하시는 예수를 바라보기 때문이다. 주를 바라보며 그의 음성을 듣는자가 복있는자다. 왜? 영혼이 살아 육신이 정욕을 이기며 살기때문이다.
결단과 적용
예수를 바라보며 따르는 자가 그리스도인이다. ‘네 자신을 부인하고 자기 십자가를 지고 나를 좆으라’(마16:24)고 주님은 말씀하신다. 주님의 음성을 듣는 자가 죽어도 산다. 이 땅에서 잠시의 부요와 쾌락을 즐김보다 질이 다른 영생의 축복을 누리고 사는 자가 진정한 승리자다. 오늘도 십자가 지고 주님을 따른다.

Observation and meditation on the text
When the Psalmist looked on the prosperity of the wicked, he nearly lost his foothold. Why? While the righteous live in sufferings the wicked live in prosperity with haughtiness. Why should I be afflicted continually even though I live in obedience to God?
I hear the voice of the Lord through QT
Both the wicked and the righteous live under the sovereign reign of God. The trustworthy Christians do not envy the prosperity of the wicked nor lose their foothold. Why? Because I fix my eyes upon Jesus who is the pioneer and perfecter of my faith. Blessed are those who may hear the voice of the Lord. Why? Because when I hear his voice, I shall live by putting the misdeeds of the body to death by the Spirit.
Decisions and applications
Christians are those who follow Jesus by fixing their eyes upon Him, not the wicked. Jesus challenges me, ‘deny yourself and take up your cross and follow me’ (Matt 16:24). If I hear his voice, I shall live even though I am being afflicted and crucified. The ultimate victor is the one who enjoys the everlasting life on earth, which is qualitatively different life than being engulfed by the covetousness for prosperity and immediate gratification, which are temporal and transitory and ephemeral. Therefore, I take up my cross and follow Jesus with gladness and willingness today as I enjoy the everlasting life in Jesus.
