‘장대에 매단 놋 뱀은 그리스도의 모형’

이스라엘은 불순종으로 가나안에 패해 호르마 까지 이르렀었다. 이번에는 순종함으로 호르마에서 아랏을 이겼다. 에돔을 피해 가는 길에 하나님과 모세를 원망한 사람들이 독사에 물려 죽어갔다.
QT를 통해 듣는 주님의 음성
하나님이 장대에 놋 뱀을 달아 독사에 물린 자들이 믿음으로 바라보면 살게 하셨다. 죄로 죽을 내가 믿음으로 십자가에 달린 예수를 바라보아 살아나게 하셨다.
결단과 적용
‘사망아 너의 승리가 어디 있느냐 사망에 네가 쏘는 것이 어디 있느냐 사망이 쏘는 것은 죄요 죄의 권능은 율법이라 우리 주 예수 그리스도로 말미암아 우리에게 승리를 주시는 하나님께 감사한다.’ (고전 15:55-57). 믿음의 주요 온전케 하시는 예수를 바라보며 산다.

Observation and meditation on the text
Once the Israelites experienced shame at Hormah when they disobeyed God and defeated by the Canaanites there. However, this time at Hormah, they defeated the Arad by obeying God. To go around Edom, people complained against God and Moses, and they were beaten by the venomous snakes sent by God.
I hear the voice of the Lord through QT
Upon hearing Moses’ intercessory prayers, God had Moses put a snake on a pole so that those who were beaten by the venomous snakes might look upon it by faith so that they might be saved.
Decisions and applications
‘Where, O deaths, is your victory? Where O death is your sting? The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the Law. But thanks be to God. He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.’ (I Co 15:55-57). Therefore, today I simply fix my eyes upon Jesus on the cross, who is the pioneer perfecter of faith.
