‘공동체는 영적순결을 유지해야 한다’
본문 관찰과 묵상
이스라엘이 미디안을 이기고 돌아왔다. 그러나 영적으로는 실패 했다. 이스라엘을 바알브올에서 2만4천명이나 죽게한 음행한 미디안 여인들을 살려 데리고 왔기 때문이었다.
QT를 통해 듣는 주님의 음성
모세가 진노해서 미디안의 남자는 다 죽이고 사내를 아는 여자도 다 죽이고 사내를 모르는 여자만 살리게 했다. 시체를 만진 모든 군인은 7일동안 진영 밖에서 정결의식을 행한 후 돌아오게했다.
결단과 적용
공동체는 죄를 짓게 하는 모든 것들을 제거하여 영적인 순결을 유지해야 한다. 아무리 외적으로 좋은 모습을 가지고 있어도 영적으로 순결하지 못할 때 하나님이 그 공동체를 받지 않으신다. 주님의 교회들이 회개를 통한 영적 순결을 회복하도록 도와주소서!

Observation and meditation on the text
Israel won the battle against the Midianites. However, they failed spiritually. The Israelite soldiers spared and took the Midianite women with them alive who caused the death of 24,000 Israelites at Baal of Peor who were seduced by the idol worshiping women.
I hear the voice of the Lord through QT
Out of anger Moses had all the Midianite men and women who had slept with men killed except the women who had never slept with men. Since they were ceremonially unclean because they touched the dead bodies, they were ordered to stay out of the camp for 7 days, and return to the camp after having purification ceremony.
Decisions and applications
Faith communities must keep the spiritual purity by getting rid of all the factors which may cause them to commit sins of idolatry. No matter how the community may have outward beauty God will not accept it unless it is pure spiritually. Lord, I pray that all the churches of Jesus Christ may repent of their sins so that they may restore and recover their spiritual purity in Jesus Christ.
