‘세상의 빛으로 오신 예수를 하나님이 증언한다’
본문관찰과 묵상
초막절 마지막날 예수는 자신을 처음에는 세상의 떡, 그리고 이번에는 세상의 빛이라 했다. 자신이 자신을 증언하니 무효라고 바리새인들이 거부했다. 나와 나를 보내신 아버지 하나님이 증인이라고 했다.
QT를 통하여 듣는 주님의 음성
바리새인들은 예수가 하나님인 것을 몰랐다. 알았더라면 예수도 하나님도 잘 섬겼으리라고 예수가 말했다. 수많은 기적을 보고도 저들이 가진 선입관이 진리를 받지 못하게 했다. 나사렛 목수의 아들이 어찌 구원자가 되나?
결단과 적용
교회에 나오는 사람들이 40% 정도가 평안을 얻기 위해라고 한단다. 다른 종교도 마찬가지다. 그러나 참된 평안은 예수 그리스도로부터 온다. 광야에서 초막절을 지키던 사람들은 하나님이 주시는 떡과 물과 불기둥과 구름기둥으로 인도함을 받았다. 생명의 떡, 생명의 빛인 예수 그리스도의 모형이다 예수는 길, 진리, 생명이기에 주님을 믿으면 세상이 주는 평안이 아닌 진정한 평안을 누리고 산다. 오늘도 나의 속사람에 좌정하신 주님이 평강을 주신다.

Observation and meditation on the text
On the last day during the Festival of the Tabernacle, Jesus declared that he was the bread of life first, and secondly, he declared that he was the light of the world. The Pharisees rejected Jesus’ saying because Jesus testified for him by himself. Jesus told them he and God the Father who sent him together testified that Jesus indeed was the Bread of Life, and the Light of the world.
I hear the voice of the Lord through QT
The Pharisees did not understand Jesus was God. Jesus told them if they knew who Jesus was, they must have believed him and God the Father who sent him. Even though the Jews witnessed and experienced numerous miracles, they did not accept the truth Jesus declared due to their prejudice. How could a carpenter’s son be our Christ and Messiah? Never!
Decisions and applications
They say that more than 40% of the church attendance come to church to seek peace in their life. It will be very similar to other religions. However, the real peace come from Jesus Christ. The Jews who kept the Festival of Tabernacle were fed by manna by God and led by the pillar of fire and cloud. They were typology of Jesus Christ who was the Bread of Life and the Light for life. Since Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, I can receive eternal peace from him unlike peace from the worldly things. My Lord Jesus who dwells in my inner being keeps on giving peace today to overcome any odds and afflictions.
