‘하나님을 떠난 자를 다시 부르시는 하나님’
본문관찰과 묵상
이스라엘이 어렸을 때 사랑으로 애굽에서 불러 구원하시고 먹이고 입히신분은 사람이 아닌 하나님이셨다. 구원받은 백성은 그 하나님을 버리고 바알을 섬겼다. 그러나 하나님은 사람이 아니기에 배신한 이스라엘을 소돔, 고모라, 아드마 스보임처럼 멸망시키지 않는다. 다시 불러 하나님집에 거하게 하신다.
QT를 통해 듣는 주님의 음성
이것이 인간이 하나님을 향한 쉬 없어지는 비없는 아침구름이나 이슬같은 사랑과 완전히 다른 하나님의 사랑이다. 변치않는 하나님의 어린 아들을 사랑하는 그 사랑은 하나님을 버리고 우상을 섬긴 고멜같은 음녀도 사자의 큰 음성으로 깨워 놀란새와 비둘기 같이 다시 돌아와 품에 안기게 하실 것이다.
결단과 적용
나도 하나님의 포기하지 않으시는 나를 부르시는 큰 음성을 듣고 그 사랑을 받아 다시 살아났다. 그리고 오늘까지 주님의 품안에 거하며 살아간다. 남은 생에도 주님 가라시고 하라시는 음성을 들으며 나를 구원하신 예수그리스도를 전하며 예수님을 닮아가며 내 십자가 지고 주님을 따라 살아가리라!
‘God who invites those who betrayed God.’
Hos 11:1-11
Observation and meditation on the text
It was not any human being, but God who called the Israelites when they were like young children from Egyptian bondage and nurtured and nourished them. However, they betrayed God by paying evil for God’s goodness by serving the idol Baal. Since God was not a human being, God never gave upon them and called them to live in his house instead of destroying them like Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboyim.
I hear the voice of the Lord through QT
This is God’s unchanging and everlasting love for sinners like me which is different from sinful humane love, like a morning mist and the early dew that disappears in a twinkling of an eye. God’s immense love not only embraced such an adulterous Gommer like Israelites who abandoned God and worshipped Baal as his beloved young son but also awakened them with a roaring lion’s voice so that they could return to God like trembling sparrows and fluttering doves to live with God in God’s house.
Decisions and applications
I was also awakened by God’s loud voice out of his never abandoning love for me, and revived by his unchanging love so that I may live in his arms securely and safely up to now. Therefore, with God’s given new life I will witness Jesus Christ my Savior as I am imitating my Lord by taking up my cross and keep on following his path for the rest of my life.
