‘보이지 않는 언약을 믿는 믿음으로’
본문 관찰과 묵상
10명의 정탐꾼은 가나안 족속 앞에서 자신들을 메뚜기 같다고 했다. 여호수아와 갈렙은 똑 같은 것을 보고도 보이지 않는 하나님의 약속을 믿었다.
QT를 통해 듣는 주님의 음성
하나님을 거역하지도, 그 땅 거인 족들을 두려워하지도 말라고 했다. 다수의 부정적 평가는 소수의 믿음의 사람을 이기지 못한다. 하나님의 언약을 믿는 소수의 의견을 경청함이 지혜다.
결단과 적용
‘내가 내 친구 너희에게 말하노니 몸을 죽이고 그후에는 능히 더 못하는 자들을 두려워 하지 말라 마땅히 두려워 할 자를 너희에게 보이리니 곧 죽인 후에 또한 지옥에 던져 넣는 권세 있는 하나님을 두려워하라 내가 참으로 너희에게 이르노니 하나님을 두려워하라’ (눅 12:4-5). 하나님의 언약을 믿는 소수로 살아가리라!

Observation and meditation on the text
Out of the 12 expedition team members 10 of them compared themselves with the Canaanites and considered themselves as a swarm of locusts. However, Caleb and Joshua believed in God’s promises even though they saw the exactly same land and people.
I hear the voice of the Lord through QT
Joshua and Caleb challenged the Israelites not to rebel against God nor be afraid of the giant Canaanites. Negative evaluation of the majority cannot defeat the minority who was the people of faith. It is wisdom to listen to the minority report who believes God’s covenant.
Decisions and applications
‘I tell you, my friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that can do no more. But I will show you whom you should fear. Fear him who after your body has been killed, has authority who throw you into the hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him (Lk 12:4-5). Therefore, I will live as a Minority leader today!
