‘혼돈의 시대에 나침반은 말씀!’
본문관찰과 묵상
임종을 앞둔 여호수아가 스스로 조심할 것을 경고했다. 그들이 사는 땅의 우상숭배 하는 원주민을 멸하지 않고 이용하면 원주민이 올무, 덫, 옆구리의 채찍이 되어 아름다운 땅에서 멸망할 것이다.
QT를 통해 듣는 주님의 음성
하나님이 주신 축복속에서 축복주신 하나님을 떠나 우상을 숭배하면 망한다. 내가 잘될수록 더욱 하나님 중심으로 살아야 한다. 온갖 이단 사설과 거짓 선지자들에게 속지 말아야 한다.
결단과 적용
하나님은 나에게 큰 은혜를 주셨다. 그 은혜 속에서 살면서 은혜 주신 하나님을 잊고 산다면 나는 배은망덕한 사람이다. 은혜를 악으로 갚는 시대다. ‘말세에 고통하는 때가 이르리니 사람들이 자기를 사랑하며 돈을 사랑하며 자랑하며 교만하며 비방하며 부모를 거역하며 감사하지 아니하며 거룩하지 아니하며 무정하며 원통함을 풀지 아니하며 모함하며 절제하지 못하며 사나우며 선한 것을 좋아하지 아니하며 배신하며 조급하며 자만하며 쾌락을 사랑하기를 하나님 사랑하는 것보다 더하며 경건의 모양은 있으나 경건의 능력은 부인하니 이 같은 자들에게서 네가 돌아서라 그들 중에 남의 집에 가만히 들어가 어리석은 여자를 유인하는 자들이 있으니 그 여자는 죄를 중히 지고 여러가지 욕심에 글린바 되어 항상 배우나 끝내 진리의 지식에 이를 수 없느니라 얀네와 암브레가 모세를 대적한 것같이 그들도 진리를 대적하니 이 사람들은 그 마음 이 부패한 자요 믿음에 관하여는 버림받은 자들이라’ (딤후 3:1-8).

Observation and meditation on the text
On the verge of his death Joshua warned Israel to be very careful. If they should not destroy the indigenous people in Canaan who were idol worshipers to misuse their labors or other reasons such as marriages, the idol worshipers eventually should become snares, traps, whips, and thorns in their life and eventually they would perish in the good land.
I hear the voice of the Lord through QT
Even though I have received blessings from God but worshiping idols not God, I shall perish. The more my life gets better by God’s blessing, the more I must live God-centered life. I must be very careful not to be deceived by all kinds of heretical false teachings by the false prophets.
Decisions and applications
I have been blessed by God abundantly. If I desert such merciful God as I am living in his abundant grace and mercy, I am an ungrateful person. I am living in a generation where people pay kindness and grace with evil. ‘There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God-having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people. They are the kind who worm their way into homes and gain control over gullible women, who are loaded down with sins and are swayed by all kinds of evil desires, always learning but never able to come to a knowledge of the truth. Just as Jannes and Ambres opposed Moses, so also these teachers oppose the truth. They are men of depraved minds, who, as fat as the faith is concerned, are rejected. But they will not get very far because, as in the case of those men, their folly will be clear to everyone.’ (II Tim. 3:1-9)
