‘십자가의 능력은 만민에게 임했다’
본문 관찰과 묵상
로마의 백부장이 예수가 그렇게 운명함을 보고 하나님의 아들이라고 고백했다. 갈릴리에서 부터, 또 예루살렘에서 올라온 여인들도 목도했다. 공회원이었던 요셉은 빌라도에게 요청해 예수의 시신을 자신의 무덤에 안장했다.
QT를 통해 듣는 주님의 음성
십자가는 만민에게 구원을 주시는 하나님의 능력이다. 그 능력은 이방인들도 자신의 신분이 들어날까 두려워하여 비밀스럽게 믿던 공회원 아리마대 사람 요셉과 니고데모도 해방시켰다.
결단과 적용
성소의 휘장이 찢어지며 나 같은 죄인도 지성소 하나님의 임재 앞에 나갈수 있는 새로운 살길을 주셨다. 곧 휘장이 예수의 육체다 (히 10:19-20). 나의 염려, 걱정, 두려움에서 주는 나를 해방시켰다. 나의 구원자, 나의 왕 예수를 오늘도 증거하며 기쁨으로 산다.

Observation and meditation on the text
A Roman centurion who witnessed what happened to Jesus on the cross declared that indeed Jesus was the son of God. Several women who followed Jesus from Galilee and Jerusalem also witnessed it. Joseph of Arimathea who was a member of Sanhedrin boldly asked Pilate for the body of Jesus and buried his own tomb he prepared for himself.
I hear the voice of the Lord through QT
The Cross of Jesus is the power of God, which provides people with salvation. Such an unprecedented power delivered the gentiles from their unbelief and the members of Sanhedrin like Joseph of Arimathea and Nicodemus who believed in Jesus in secrecy from their fear of fellow Jews.
Decisions and applications
When the curtain of the temple was torn in two, God has provided such a sinner like me with a new and living way to enter into the presence of God, the holy of holies. The curtain is the body of Jesus (Heb 10:19-20). Jesus has set me free from worries, anxieties, and fear. Therefore, I witness Jesus my King and Savior with gladness and willingness today.
