‘음란한 세대에 필요한 요나의 표적’
1. 본문 관찰과 묵상
바리새인과 사두개인은 악의적인 동기로 사탄
같이 예수를 시험했다. 예수를 시험하는 자는 사탄의 하수인 이다. 진짜 메시야인지 표적을 보이라 했을 때 예수는 음란한 세대 에게 필요한 표적은 요나의 표적밖에 없다고 했다.
2. QT를 통해 듣는 주님의 음성
하나님의 말씀에 불순종한 요나가 3일을 큰 물고기 뱃속에서 지옥을 체험하고 회개 한 후 회복 받아 원수인 니느웨 성의 사람과 가축까지 살렸다. 예수의 표적이다.
3. 결단과 적용
“음란한 세대에 바리새인과 사두개인의 누룩을 조심하라” (마 16:6)고 경고했다. 복음의 누룩은 살리고 부흥 시킨다. 종교인들은 자신을 높이고 교회와 예수를 죽이려한다. “때가 이르리니 사람이 바른 교훈을 받지 아니하며 귀가 가려워서 자기의 사욕을 좆을 스승을 많이 두고 그 귀를 진리에서 돌이켜 허탄한 이야기를 따르리라 그러나 너는 모든 일에 신중하여 고난을 받으며 전도자의 일을 하며 네 직무를 다하라” (딤후 4:3-5).
오늘의 기도
주여, 영을 분별하게 하시고 (요일 4:1), 요나 같이 악한 영에 속아 스스로 지옥 같은 삶을 체험했다면 회개하고 회복되어 무너진 사람들의 삶을 살리는 선한 누룩이 되어 살게 하소서. 예수님의 이름으로 기도합니다.
‘A wicked generation needs the sign of Jonah’
Mt. 16:1-12
1. Observation and Meditation
The Pharisees and Sadducees approached Jesus with wicked motives, testing Him to see if He was the true Messiah. To test the divinity of Jesus in this way is to follow the influence of the enemy. When they demanded a miraculous sign from heaven, Jesus rebuked them, stating that no sign would be given to such an "adulterous generation" except the sign of Jonah.
2. Hearing the Voice of the Lord
Jonah, after disobeying God, ended up in the belly of a great fish—an experience of "hell" that led him to repentance. Upon his restoration, he became the catalyst for the salvation of Nineveh, even though they were his enemies. Jesus points to this as the ultimate Messianic sign: His own death, three days in the earth, and His resurrection to save a broken world.
3. Decisions and Applications
Jesus warned, "Be on your guard against the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees" (Mt. 16:6). While their "yeast" represents legalism and pride that stifles faith, the yeast of the Gospel restores and revives the broken. Worldly religious spirits seek to exalt themselves and dismantle the church. As 2 Timothy 4:3-5 warns, the time has come where people prefer myths over sound doctrine. Therefore, I must keep my head in all situations, endure hardship, and faithfully discharge the duties of my ministry.
Today's Prayer
Lord, please grant me the gift of discernment to test every spirit (1 John 4:1). Empower me to be the "yeast" of the Gospel, bringing restoration to those deceived by false doctrines or trapped in their own personal hells. Use me to revive the broken. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
