‘나를 평안히 놓아주시는 예수’
본문관찰과 묵상
시므온은 성령의 감동으로 구세주를 볼 줄 알았다. 그가 성전에 들어가자 정결의식을 위해 아기 예수를 안고온 부모와 만났다. 시므온은 주의 구원을 보고 평안이 놓임을 받았다.
QT를 통해 듣는 주님의 음성
아기 예수는 이방을 비추는 빛이요 이스라엘의 영광이라고 하는 말을 요셉과 마리아가 들었다. 또한 예수는 많은 사람을 흥하게도 패하게도 하고 비방을 받는 표적이 되어 마리아의 마음도 찌를 것이라 예언했다. 마리아는 한편 놀랬지만 한편 확신도 받았다.
결단과 적용
운이 좋아서, 우연이 사람이 흥하거나 패하는 것이 아니다. 나를 죄에서 구원하시고 재앙이 아닌 평안과 미래와 희망을 주시는 예수를 믿음으로 나는 승리한다. 끝까지 주님가신 그 길을 가리라! 순간순간 주님이 나를 놓아주신다. 평안을 주신다. 주를 찬양한다.

Observation and meditation on the text
Simeon was moved by the Holy spirit and expected to see the Messiah. When he entered the temple of God, he met the parents who took baby Jesus for purification. Simeon took Jesus and declared that he was set free from sins and enjoyed peace.
I hear the voice of the Lord through QT
Mary and Joseph heard Simeon’s declaration when he took the baby that the baby Jesus was a light for revelation to the Gentiles and the glory of the Israelites. Simeon prophesied that the baby would cause the falling and rising of many and to be a sign that would be spoken against. And a sword would pierce Mary’s own soul too. Mary must have been stunned but on the other hand she must have been confirmed that Jesus was the Christ.
Decisions and applications
It is not by chance nor by luck that I may prosper or fail. By relying on Jesus Christ who has delivered me form sins and inspires me with peace and hopeful future by faith I am assured that I will win the ultimate victory. I simply take up my cross and follow Jesus all the way to the end of my life. Moment by moment Jesus sets me free and fills me with peace. I praise him.
