‘주님보다 더 귀하게 여기는 것이 우상이다’
1. 본문 관찰과 묵상
천국은 이해해서 가는 것이 아니라 믿음 으로 간다. 어린아이 같이 믿고 순종하는 자가 천국을 산다. 계명을 지키며 재물보다 하나님을 더 사랑하는 자가 천국을 누린다. 천국은 장소의 이동이 아닌 변화 받은 삶이다.
2. QT를 통해 듣는 주님의 음성
내가 어린아이 보다 크다고 생각하는 것이 나의 교만의 우상이다. 내가 계명을 다 지켰다고 의롭다 생각하는 것이 우상이다. 내가 재물을 주님보다 더 귀히 여기면 그것이 나의 우상이다.
3. 결단과 적용
“아무든지 나를 따라 오려거든 자기를 부인하고 자기 십자가를 지고 나를 좆을 것이니라” (마 16:24). “교만은 패망의 선봉이요 거만함은 넘어짐의 앞잡이니라” (잠 16:18). “너희가 하나님과 재물을 겸하여 섬기지 못하느니라” (마 6:24). 하나님보다 더 귀하게 여기는 우상을 오늘 멸한다.
오늘의 기도
주여, 어린아이 같이 주님을 믿고 순종하여 오늘 천국을 살게 하소서. 주님보다 더 귀히 여기는 모든 생각을 사로 잡아 그리스도에게 복종하게 하는 ‘하나님의 능력’ 으로 살게 하소서(고후 10:3-5). 예수님의 이름으로 기도합니다.
‘If I value anything more than Jesus, it becomes my idol’
Mt. 19:13-22
1. Observation and Meditation
I enter the Kingdom of God through faith, not human understanding. To live in His Kingdom, I must believe in Jesus and walk in obedience. It is not enough to simply follow the law; I must love Jesus more than wealth or status. The Kingdom of God is not merely a place I go to after death; it is a transformed life that allows me to experience His reign "here and now."
2. Hearing the Voice of the Lord
The Lord reveals the subtle idols in my heart:
The Idol of Pride: Thinking I am more important or significant than a child.
The Idol of Self-Righteousness: Believing I am "good enough" simply because I follow rules and laws.
The Idol of Materialism: Placing a higher value on money and security than on God.
3. Decisions and Applications
I am reminded of these truths:
“Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me” (Mt. 16:24).
“Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall” (Pr. 16:18).
“You cannot serve both God and money” (Mt. 6:24).
My Commitment: Today, I choose to identify and tear down any idol that I have elevated above God.
Today's Prayer
Lord, empower me to live in Your Kingdom today by believing and obeying You with the heart of a child. Help me walk in the "power of God" that demolishes spiritual strongholds—every argument and pretension that sets itself up against Your truth. I take every thought captive and make it obedient to Christ (2 Cor. 10:3–5). May I enjoy Your Kingdom "here and now" as I enthrone You as the sole King of my life. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
