‘산 돌인 예수로 믿음을 계승하라’
본문관찰과 묵상
여호수아가 세겜에서 백성과 언약을 맺고 돌을 세웠다. 그 돌이 증거가 되어 여호수아 가 죽은 후 하나님이 하신 일을 기억하는 자들이 사는 동안에는 믿음이 계승되었다. 그후에 믿음을 버렸다.
QT를 통해 듣는 주님의 음성
눈에 보이는 돌을 세워도 믿음이 계승되지 못한다. 하나님이 하신 일을 기억하지 못하는 세대가 오면 돌이 있어도 그 의미를 모른다. 자손 대대로 믿음을 전승할 수 있는 길은 산 돌인 예수밖에 없다.
결단과 적용
‘사람에게는 버린 바가 되었으나 하나님께는 택하심을 입은 보배로운 산 돌 이신 예수께 나아와 너희도 산 돌 같이 신령한 집으로 세워지고 예수 그리스도로 말미암아 하나님이 기쁘게 받으실 신령한 제사를 드릴 거룩한 제사장이 될찌니라’ (벧전 2:4-5). 산 돌 예수를 유산으로 남겨 예수 믿는 믿음을 자손대대로 계승하라!
‘Pass my faith in Jesus who is the Living Stone’
Jos. 24:25-33
Observation and meditation on the text
Joshua made a covenant for the people at Shechem and took a large stone to be a witness against the people whether they were untrue to God or not. As long as the people were living, who knew what God had done for them even after the death of Joshua, people lived by faith in God. However, after that people deserted faith in God.
I hear the voice of the Lord through QT
Even though Joshua established a large stone as a witness of the covenant with the people, they failed to pass their faith to the next generations. When a new generation rises, who do not remember what God had done before them, they never know the meaning of a large stone. Therefore, the only way to pass my faith to the next generation is to pass the Living Stone who is Jesus Christ, not a dead stone.
Decisions and applications
‘As you come to him, the Living Stone-rejected by humans but chosen by God and precious to him-you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priest hood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ’ (I Pet 2:4-5). Pass the Living Stone, Jesus Christ as inheritance to the descendants so that they may keep on believing in Jesus from generation to generation.
