‘기적은 순종할 때 주시는 하나님의 선물이다’
본문관찰과 묵상
제사장 들이 순종해서 하나님의 임재의 상징인 언약궤를 메고 요단에 발을 넣었을 때 물이 멈췄다. 백성들이 다 건너자 제사장 들이 요단에서 나오자 물이 다시 흘렀다. 순종이 기적을 일으킨다.
QT를 통해 듣는 주님의 음성
12개의 돌을 길갈에 쌓아 영원한 기념이 되게 했다. 후손들이 물으면 하나님이 일으키신 기적을 말해주기 위함이었다. 기적은 믿음을 강화시킨다. 요단 서편의 왕들은 하나님을 두려워했다.
결단과 적용
기적은 하나님이 믿음으로 순종하는 자들에게 주시는 선물이다. 그러므로 순종이 나의 목적이고 기적은 순종의 산물이다. 기적이 목적이 아니다. 기적은 내 믿음을 더욱 공고히 하고 나의 원수들이 기적을 일으키는 하나님을 두려워하게 하는 하나님의 일하심이다.

Observation and meditation on the text
When the priests carried the Ark of the Covenant on their shoulders and set their feet in Jordan the flowing waters was cut off. When the priests came up out of Jordan after all people crossing the river, the waters returned to their place. Obedience brings about miracles.
I hear the voice of the Lord through QT
They set up the 12 stones at Gilgal, the eastern border of Jericho. They could tell what and how God saved them if their descendants would ask about it. Miracles are strengthening my faith. At the same time, it causes unbelieving Canaanites in the western side of Jordan to fear of the Lord.
Decisions and applications
Miracles are God’s gift to the obedient. Therefore, my goal is to obey, and miracles are the result of my obedience. Miracles are not my goal. Miracles are solidifying my faith in the Lord. At the same time, it is God’s administration that makes unbelievers to fear of the Lord.
