‘누가 하나님의 은혜를 받을 자격 있나?’
1. 본문 관찰과 묵상
이방인 여인이 귀신들린 딸을 고쳐달라고 부르짖을 때 제자들은 그를 쫓아내려 했다. 예수도 무시했다. 그 여인은 개 취급을 받았어도 믿음으로 작은 은혜 받기를 원했다.
2. QT를 통해 듣는 주님의 음성
누가 예수의 고침을 받을 자격이 있는가? 유대인 만인가? 아니다. 믿음으로 주를 믿고 주께 나오는 사람이면 누구나 구원을 받을 수 있다고 예수는 선포했다.
3. 결단과 적용
예수는 교만한 제자들을 겸손히 낮추시고 무시 당하는 이방인 여성의 믿음을 높이셨다. 그리고 그의 믿음 대로 그 딸이 즉시 나음을 입어 구원받았다. “너희가 그 은혜를 인하여 믿음으로 말미암아 구원을 받았으니 이는 너희에게서 난 것이 아니요 하나님의 선물이라 행위에서 난 것이 아니니 이는 누구든지 자랑하지 못하게 하려 하심이라” (엡 2:8-9).
오늘의 기도
“내가 무슨 일이든지 내게서 난 것같이 스스로 자격 있다고 만족할 것이 아니니 나의 자격 있음은 오직 하나님으로부터 나느니라” (고후 3:5). : 주여 내가 스스로 내가 자격 있다고 교만 하지 않게 하소서. 나의 죄를 씻어 정결케 하시고 구원하신 예수님 을 믿는 믿음으로 주께 나오니 그 자격으로 은혜 내려 주소서!
‘Who is Worthy of God’s Grace?’
Mt. 15:21–28
1. Observation and Meditation
When a Gentile woman cried out for help for her demon-possessed daughter, the disciples wanted to send her away. Even Jesus initially seemed to neglect her. However, she persisted, asking for even "the crumbs" of grace—even after being compared to a dog. Her humility and tenacity were met with Christ’s healing power.
2. Hearing the Voice of the Lord
Who is truly worthy of Jesus’ grace? Is it the Jews? No. Jesus makes it clear that anyone who approaches Him with genuine faith will find mercy. Worthiness isn't found in our background nor deeds but in our desperate and persistent request for Him by faith.
3. Decisions and Applications
Jesus used this moment to humble the pride of His disciples while elevating the faith of a marginalized woman. It serves as a living example of Ephesians 2:8–9: "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast." I must remember that my standing before God is a gift, not a wage.
Today's Prayer
"Not that we are competent in ourselves to claim anything for ourselves, but our competence comes from God" (2 Corinthians 3:5).
Lord, please strip away the pride that makes me feel entitled to Your favor. Humble me so that I never think of myself as "worthy" of Your sacrifice on my own merit. Anoint me with Your abundant grace. Let my only confidence come from faith in Jesus, who purified my sinfulness with His blood and rescued me from eternal death. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
