‘권리를 포기하고 범사에 참는 이유’

1. 본문 관찰과 묵상

바울은 자신이 권리를 포기하고 범사에 참는 첫 번째 이유는 그리스도의 복음전함에 장애가 없게 하기 위함이요,  둘째는 복음전하는 자들은 복음으로 인해 살기 때문이고 셋째는 복음전함은 사명이기 때문이라 했다. 

2. QT를 통해 듣는 주님의 음성

그렇게 복음을 전한 바울이 받는 상급은 첫째, 값없이 복음을 전한 것이요, 둘째, 복음으로 자신이 쓸 권리를 포기한 것이 상급이라 했다. 

3. 결단과 적용 

나도 사명으로 복음을 전했기에 복음 전한 후 받은 사례비는 전액 교회에 헌금했다.  자격 없는 나를 복음 전파자로 사용하신 주님이 내게는 큰 상급이다.  만족한다.

주여, 끝까지 복음 전파 자로 삶으로 나 같은 죄인을 변화시켜 쓰시는 주님께만 영광 돌리게 하소서.  예수님의 이름으로 기도합니다.  아멘.  

‘The Reason Paul Gave Up His Rights’

I Co. 9:11–18

1. Observation and Meditation

First, Paul chose to give up his rights and endure hardships so that he would not hinder the gospel of Christ. Second, he acknowledges that those who preach the gospel have a right to receive their living from the gospel. Third, he recognized that preaching the gospel was a divine mission compelled by God, not something to boast about.

2. Hearing the Voice of the Lord through QT

Paul, who preached the gospel in this selfless way, received a unique reward. First, his reward was the privilege of preaching the gospel free of charge. Second, his ultimate reward was simply being able to surrender his rights for the sake of the kingdom.

3. Decisions and Applications

I, too, preach the gospel because I have been called to do so as a mission from God. Because of this, I have donated all the honorariums I received back to the church. It is a massive reward in itself that God would choose to use an unqualified servant like me. Therefore, I am completely content and satisfied, even without any earthly reward.

Today's Prayer

Lord, please strengthen me to preach the gospel faithfully until the very end, so that I may bring glory to Your name alone. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
