‘순종은 신뢰의 관계에서만 이루어진다’
1. 본문 관찰과 묵상
나오미는 현숙한 룻에게 안식처를 주기를 원했다. 보아스의 잠자리에 들어가 청혼하는 절차를 밟게 했다. 서로 신뢰하는 관계였기에 룻은 순종할수 있었다.
2. QT를 통해 듣는 주님의 음성
여인이 자원해 남성의 침상에 들어가 청혼한다는 것은 나쁜 여성이란 오해를 받을수 있는 행동이었다. 보아스는 오히려 룻을 현숙하다 인정하고 자신보다 더 가까운 기업무를 자에게 묻고 행하리라 하고 보아스도 신뢰를 지켰다. 순종은 신뢰관계에서만 일어난다.
3. 결단과 적용
나는 도저히 신뢰할수 없는 사람도 끝까지 신뢰함으로 배신당한 경험이 있다. 내 잘못이다. 신뢰 할 수 없는 사람이 내게 순종하지 못함을 깨닫는다. 신뢰는 쌍방의 관계가 될 때 좋은 결과가 나는 것을 깨닫고 배웠다.
오늘의 기도
“예수는 하나님의 아들이시면서도 받으신 고난 으로 순종함을 배워서 온전하게 되셨은즉 자기에게 순종하는 모든 자에게 영원한 구원의 근원이 되시고 하나님께 멜기세덱의 반차를 따른 대 제사장이라 칭하심을 받으셨느니라” (히 5:8-10). 주여, 나도 고난가운데 순종을 배우게 하소서. 예수님의 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.
‘Mutual Trust Brings About Obedience’
Ru. 3:1–18
1. Observation and Meditation
Naomi deeply trusted Ruth and desired to find her a home where she could be secure. She instructed Ruth on the Jewish custom of requesting marriage—specifically, how to approach Boaz as he slept. Because their bond was built on mutual trust, Ruth was able to obey Naomi’s unconventional instructions without hesitation.
2. Hearing the Voice of the Lord through QT
Ruth’s actions were incredibly risky; initiating a proposal in this manner could have led to her being labeled a promiscuous woman. However, because of their shared integrity, Boaz recognized her not as a scandal, but as a "woman of noble character." Boaz also demonstrated his trustworthiness by promising to consult a closer kinsman-redeemer first to ensure everything was done legally and honorably. This confirms that true obedience is the natural byproduct of mutual trust.
3. Decisions and Applications
I have experienced the pain of betrayal after trusting the wrong person. I realize now that I cannot force obedience from an untrustworthy heart; untrustworthy people may "pretend" to obey, but it is ultimately a facade. I have learned a precious lesson: genuine obedience can only grow in the soil of a trustworthy relationship.
Today's Prayer
"Son though He was, He learned obedience from what He suffered and, once made perfect, He became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey Him and was designated by God to be high priest in the order of Melchizedek " (Hebrews 5:8–10). Lord, help me to learn how to obey You even in the midst of my sufferings. May my obedience be a reflection of my absolute trust in Your character. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
