‘믿음의 고백 위에 십자가를 살아서 교회를 세우라’  

1. 본문 관찰과 묵상

예수를 그리스도요 하나님의 아들로 고백 한 베드로는 칭찬받았다.  믿음의 고백 위에 교회가 세워 진다.  그러나 사람의 일을 생각한 베드로는 사탄이라 책망 받았다.  믿음의 고백 위에 십자가를 매일 살아야 교회는 세워 진다. 

2. QT를 통해 듣는 주님의 음성

믿음의 고백은 입으로 시인하는 것을 넘어 그 믿음을 살아야 한다.  나 자신을 부인하고 내 십자가를 지고 내가 매일 죽을 때 주님의 교회는 세워져 간다. 

3. 결단과 적용

“사람이 마음으로 믿어 의에 이르고 입으로 시인하여 구원에 이르느니라” (롬 10:10).  예수는 내 믿음을 십자가를 지고 살라 고 하신다.  “이는 내가 사는 것이 그리스도니 죽는 것도 유익 함이라” (빌 1:21).  오늘도 내 십자가 지고 예수를 따라 죽는다.

오늘의 기도

주여 내게 믿음의 열쇠를 주셨으니  오늘도 모든 매인 것들을 내가 죽음으로 내가 먼저 풀면서 살게 하소서!   하늘 에서도 풀어주소서!  음부의 권세가 나를 누르지 않고 진리 안에서 자유 함을 갖고 오늘을 살게 하소서!  예수님의 이름으로 기도합니다. 

‘Establish the Church by living out the Cross through your confession of faith’

Mt. 16:13-28

1. Observation and Meditation

Peter was commended by Jesus when he confessed that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God. Jesus declared that His Church would be established upon this confession of faith. However, Peter was later rebuked when he focused on human concerns rather than the things of God. The Church must be built by those who live out the reality of Jesus’ cross, grounded in their confession of faith.

2. Hearing the Voice of the Lord

My confession of faith in Jesus Christ must be reflected in my daily life. Jesus’ Church is established when I deny myself, take up my cross, and follow Him every day.

3. Decisions and Applications

"For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved" (Rom. 10:10). Jesus calls me to take up my cross and live it out. "For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain" (Phil. 1:21). Today, I choose to carry my cross and embody His life.

Today's Prayer

Lord, since You have given me the keys to the Kingdom of Heaven, empower me to use them. Help me set free everything that is bound by crucifying my ego on the cross, so that Your will may be done on earth as it is in heaven. Strengthen me, Lord, to lay down my heavy yoke and enjoy the true freedom found in Your truth. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
