‘감사 없는 탐욕이 공동체를 파괴한다.’
본문 관찰과 묵상
하나님은 모세에게 주신 성령을 70인 장로 모두에게 주셨다. 진에 머물고 있던 엘닷과 메닷에게도 주셨다. 하나님은 모두가 선지자되기 원하신다. 메추라기를 탐욕스럽게 모은 백성은 죽임 당했다.
QT를 통해 듣는 주님의 음성
하나님의 은혜에 감사도 없이 탐욕으로 산 사람들은 고기맛을 보기도 전에 죽임당했다. 기브롯 핫다아와 는 욕망의 무덤이었다. 하나님은 후히 모두에게 성령과 양식도 주신다. 감사해야 한다.
결단과 적용
‘범사에 감사하라’ (살전 5:18). 감사하는 자가 그리스도의 평강으로 살며 공동체를 하나되게 한다 (골 3:15). ‘기도에 항상 힘쓰고 감사함으로 깨어있으라’ (골 4:2). 감사없는 탐욕은 공동체를 무너뜨린다. 악한 영은 우리에게서 감사를 뺏고 탐욕을 넣어준다.

Observation and meditation on the text
God anointed the 70 chosen elders with the Holy Spirit as God did on Moses. Eldad and Medad, who stayed in the camp were also anointed by the Holy Spirit. God wanted all God’s people would become prophets. Those who gathered quail out of covetousness without thanksgiving to God were killed by God.
I hear the voice of the Lord through QT
Those who lived with greedy without giving thanks to God for enough quail were killed before they tasted the meat. The place was called Kibroth Hattaavah, which meant the grave of covetousness. God never fails to provide me with not only the Holy Spirit but also daily bread. I must give thanks in all circumstances.
Decisions and applications
‘Give thanks in all circumstances.’ (I Thess 5:18). If I live with thanksgiving to God, I shall live in peace, and helps my community be united by the Spirit of thanksgiving. ‘Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.’ (Col 4:2). Greedy without thanksgiving destroys the community. The evil spirits steal our thanksgiving to God and put covetousness into the community.
