‘예수가 무죄임을 알면서 죽이는 자들’
본문 관찰과 묵상
다수의 정죄를 받으면서도 예수는 침묵했다. 산헤드린 과 종교지도자들은 죄인 바라바는 놓아주고 무죄한 예수를 죽이라고 외쳤다. 빌라도는 예수가 저들의 시기로 넘겨준 것을 알았다.
QT를 통해 듣는 주님의 음성
진리는 소리지를 필요가 없다. 아무리 감추고 소리쳐도 진리는 어제나 오늘이나 영원히 동일하기 때문이다. 빌라도는 예수가 무죄이고 저들의 시기 때문인줄 알면서도 무리에게 만족을 주려고 판결을 잘못했다. 빌라도 때문에 예수가 고난당했다고 오늘까지 사도신경은 선포한다.
결단과 적용
하나님은 정의와 공의의 하나님이다. 하나님을 믿는 자 들도 무죄한 사람들을 다수결로 죽일 수 있다. 또 어떤 사람이 무죄임을 알면서도 선동자와 군중심리에 빠져 정죄할 수도 있다. 매 순간 변하는 ‘사실, fact’ 가 아닌 변함없는 진리, truth이신 예수의 말씀에 오늘도 순종하며 산다. 믿음의 주요, 온전케 하는 예수를 바라본다.

Observation and meditation on the text
Jesus remained in silence when he was judged by people unfairly. Religious leaders with the members of Sanhedrin insisted to release Barabbas but crucify Jesus. Pilate knew the religious leaders handed Jesus over him out of self-interest.
I hear the voice of the Lord through QT
Truth never advocates itself. No matter how people try to hide or changing it, truth is the same yesterday, and today and forever. Pontius Pilate knew Jesus was innocent, but he gave his final judgment unjustly to satisfy the angry people. Therefore, even I declare that Jesus suffered due to Pilate through the Apostles’ Creed today.
Decisions and applications
God is God of Justice and righteousness. Sometimes even believers are prone to kill a suspect by the majority vote. Even such an innocent one as Jesus could be judged unrighteously by the instigators and the crowd’s shout. Therefore, I never rely or obey the changing ‘facts,’ but the ‘truth,’ which is the words of Jesus. I fix my eyes upon Jesus who is the pioneer and perfecter of faith.
