‘무너진 곳을 세우는 예수와 제자들’  

1. 본문 관찰과 묵상

세례 요한이 투옥되었다는 소식을 들으신 예수님은 스불론과 납달리 지경의 가버나움으로 자리를 옮기셨다. 이는 이사야의 예언(사 9:1-2)을 성취하기 위함 이었다. 과거 앗수르 왕 디글랏 빌레셀의 공격으로 철저히 파괴되고 주민들이 포로로 끌려갔던 그 절망의 땅, 즉 이스라엘이 가장 먼저 무너졌던 곳에서 예수님은 생명의 사역을 시작 하셨다. 가장 어두운 곳에 참 빛으로 임하신 것이다.

2. 묵상을 통해 듣는 주님의 음성

예수님은 무너진 가버나움을 재건하기 위해 화려한 학벌이나 세상적인 스펙을 갖춘 자들을 찾지 않으셨다. 대신 베드로와 안드레, 야고보와 요한처럼 '부르심 앞에 모든 것을 내려놓을 수 있는 자'들을 택하셨다. 그들은 배와 그물, 심지어 가족까지 뒤로하고 주님을 따랐다. 주님은 이처럼 자신의 전부를 내어맡길 수 있는 헌신된 자들을 제자로 삼으시고, 당신의 위대한 구원 사역을 위탁하셨다.

3. 결단과 적용

예수님의 회복 사역은 화려한 기술이나 시대의 도구(AI나 ChatGPT 등)에 의존하지 않았다. 오직 하나님 나라의 복음을 전파하고(Preaching), 가르치며(Teaching), 치유하는(Healing) '삼중 사역'을 통해 영혼과 육신을 온전히 살려내셨다.오늘날 제사장으로 부름받은 나 또한 이 삼중 사역을 이어받아 무너진 곳을 보수하며 살아가기를 결단한다.

• 사 61:4-6: "그들은 황폐하였던 곳을 다시 쌓을 것이며 예부터 무너진 곳을 ㄷ시 일으킬 것이며 황폐한 성읍 곧 대대로 무너져 있던 것들을 중수할 것이며 외인은 서서 너희 양 떼를 칠 것이요 이방 사람은 너희 농부와 포도원지기가 될 것이나 오직 너희는 여호와의 제사장이라 일컬음을 받을 것이라 사람들이 너희를 우리 하나님의 봉사자라 할 것이며"

• 벧전 2:9: "너희는 택하신 족속이요 왕 같은 제사장이요 거룩한 나라요 그의 소유된 백성이니 이는 너희를 어두움 가운데서 불러내어 그의 기이한 빛에 들어가게 하신 이의 아름다운 덕을 선포하게 하려 하심이라." 

하나님의 봉사자이자 왕 같은 제사장으로서, 어둠 속에 있는 자들을 빛으로 인도하며 무너진 삶을 재건하는 복음의 통로로 살아가리라.

* 오늘의 기도

주여, 주님의 약속(마 28:19-20)을 굳게 믿고 나아갑니다. 세상 끝날까지 함께하시겠다는 주님, 제가 무너진 삶을 사는 이들을 일으켜 세우고 회복시키는 하나님의 제사장이자 봉사자로 살 수 있도록 능력을 부어 주소서. 저를 통해 또 다른 제자들이 세워지며, 사람들을 섬겨 그리스도의 제자로 삼는 주님의 신실한 도구가 되게 하소서. 예수 그리스도의 이름으로 기도드립니다. 아멘.

‘Jesus and His Disciples Who Restore the Ruins’

Mt. 4:12-25

1. Observation and Meditation

Upon hearing of the imprisonment of John the Baptist, Jesus withdrew from Nazareth to Capernaum in Galilee, located in the regions of Zebulun and Naphtali. This move fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah. These lands had historically been devastated by the Assyrian King Tiglath-Pileser III, who took the Israelites into captivity (Isa. 9:1-2). Remarkably, Jesus chose to begin His ministry of restoration and revival in the very midst of those ruins.

2. Hearing the Voice of the Lord

Jesus did not choose erudite scholars or those with impressive credentials to restore Capernaum physically and spiritually. Instead, He chose humble fishermen: Peter and his brother Andrew, and the two sons of Zebedee, James and John. When Jesus called them, saying, “I will make you fishers of men,” they immediately left their nets, their boats, and even their father to follow Him. Jesus entrusted God’s mission to disciples who were willing to leave everything behind for His sake.

3. Decisions and Applications

Jesus’ methodology for restoring Israel was to preach, teach, and heal through the living Word of God. He did not rely on human inventions or modern tools like AI to transform hearts. Furthermore, He entrusted this three-fold ministry to His disciples.  Following His example, I will utilize these same three pillars—preaching, teaching, and healing—for the restoration of broken people. As it is written: "They will rebuild the ancient ruins and restore the places long devastated; they will renew the ruined cities that have been devastated for generations.  Strangers will shepherd your flocks; foreigners will work your fields and vineyards.  And you’ll be called the priest of the Lord, you will be named ministers of our God” (Isa. 61:4-6).

As a member of a "chosen people" and a "royal priesthood" (1 Pet. 2:9), I will continue to serve as God's instrument. I commit to helping others find renewal physically, mentally, and spiritually through the Gospel. I dedicate the remainder of my life to helping people be restored by the living Word of God.

Today’s Prayer

Lord, please empower and strengthen me so that I may continue preaching, teaching, and healing broken people through Your living Word. Use me, Lord, as an instrument in Your hands. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
