‘열매를 보면 나무를 안다’

1. 본문 관찰과 묵상

열매를 보면 그 나무의 본질을 알 수 있다. 거짓 선지자들은 양의 옷을 입고 다가오나 그 속은 탐욕스러운 이리와 같다. 그들은 생명으로 인도하는 '좁은 문' 대신, 사람들에게 인기 있고 편안한 '넓은 문'을 선택한다. 입술로는 주님의 이름을 부르지만 실제로는 불법을 행하는 이들은, 결국 비바람에 무너질 모래 위에 집을 짓는 자들이다.

2. QT를 통해 듣는 주님의 음성

"좁은 문인 예수의 문으로 들어가 내 말을 듣고 순종하라." 그것이 곧 반석 위에 집을 짓는 지혜다. 세상의 인기와 편안함에 속아 불법을 행하는 길은 겉보기에 화려할지 모르나, 마지막 심판의 바람을 견딜 수 없다. 겉모습은 비슷해 보일지라도 결국 열매가 그 차이를 드러낸다. 나는 오늘 시냇가에 심은 나무처럼, 주님 안에 뿌리 내려 선한 열매를 맺는 삶을 살아가리라.

3. 결단과 적용

예수님이 곧 양의 문이며 좁은 문이다. 오늘 하루, 비록 좁고 험할지라도 주님의 말씀에 순종하며 그 문을 통해 살아가리라. 이것이 내 인생을 반석 위에 세우는 길임을 믿는다. 혼자서는 이 험한 세상의 폭풍을 견디기 어렵다. **적송(赤松)**은 뿌리를 깊게 내리지 못해도, 사방으로 뻗은 뿌리들이 서로 단단히 얽혀 있기에 거센 풍파를 이겨낸다고한다. 나 또한 믿음의 동역자들과 성령 안에서 하나 됨을 힘써 지키며, 함께 승리하는 공동체를 세워나가리라.

오늘의 기도

주님, 오늘도 '양의 문'이자 '좁은 문'이신 예수님을 통과하며 하루를 시작합니다. 사람들의 인정이나 세상의 인기에 휘둘리지 않고, 묵묵히 말씀에 순종하며 내 영혼의 집을 반석 위에 짓게 하소서. 같은 마음과 영성을 가진 동역자들과 성령으로 하나 되어, 주님 다시 오시는 날까지 서로를 붙들어주며 승리하게 하소서. 예수님의 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

‘By their fruit you’ll know who they are’

Mt. 7:13-2

1. Observation and Meditation

"By their fruit, you will recognize them." False prophets often appear harmless, disguised in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves seeking to exploit others. These evildoers choose the wide, easy gate and use the name of Jesus in vain. Ultimately, because their foundation is not in Christ, they build their lives on shifting sand.

2. Hearing the Voice of the Lord The Lord calls me to enter through the narrow gate—the gate of Jesus—and to obey His word. This is how I build my house upon the Rock, ensuring it remains sturdy even when the severe storms of life hit. While the wide gate is tempting and popular, it leads to a house that looks great outwardly but lacks a foundation. Like a tree planted by streams of water, the obedient life is the only one that bears lasting fruit and endures the test of time.

3. Decisions and Applications Today, I choose the narrow gate. I will not be swayed by the pursuit of popularity or the "easy way" shown by false prophets. Instead, I will focus on simple obedience. I also recognize that I cannot stand alone. Just as Redwood trees survive floods and storms by intertwining their roots with one another, we as a church must stay united. By the power of the Holy Spirit, our faith community will stand firm together on the same solid Rock.

Today’s Prayer Lord, I choose Your gate—the narrow gate for Your sheep. Keep me from seeking the approval of the world or the popularity that false prophets crave. Help me to simply obey Your Word and build my life on the Rock. May I remain united with my brothers and sisters in Christ, so that together we can hold fast to our identity until You return. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
