‘Never repeat the same mistake’
1 Chronicles 15:1-15
1. Observation and meditation on the Text
Anyone can make a mistake; however, I must be careful not to repeat the same one. David reminded the people of the death of Uzzah, which was the direct result of David’s previous choice—transporting the Ark on an ox cart for convenience rather than following God's commands. Realizing his error, David assembled the priests and the Levites to do it right.
2. I hear the voice of the Lord through QT
David instructed the Levites to consecrate and purify themselves before carrying the Ark on their shoulders, strictly adhering to the law of God.
3. Decision and Application
As a believer today, I am called and chosen to serve the Lord as part of His spiritual priesthood. Before I jump into any ministry or work for God, I must first present myself as a holy, living sacrifice—acceptable to Him (Romans 12:1–2).
*Today’s prayer
"Then Jesus said to his disciples, 'Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.’” (Matt. 16:16:24). Lord, grant me the strength and grace today to die to my own self-will and desire for convenience. Help me walk faithfully in Your will, taking up my cross daily to follow You with a humble and quiet spirit. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
