‘점령한 땅은 제비 뽑기로 분배했다’
본문관찰과 묵상
요단 동편 땅은 두 지파 반이 요청을 했고 모세가 허락해 주었다. 그러나 서편 땅은 9지파 반에게 제비를 뽑아 분배했다 (민 22:55). 제비 뽑는다는 것은 하나님의 뜻에 온전히 맡기고 순종하는 것이다.
QT를 통해 듣는 주님의 음성
그런데 제비 뽑기 전에 유다 지파 중 갈렙이 여호수아에게 헤브론 땅을 요청했다. 84세의 갈렙이 40년 전과 같은 믿음으로 거인들이 사는 헤브론을 주면 다 쫒아내겠다고 요청해 허락받았다.
결단과 적용
내가 나의 공동체를 위해 간절히 기도하며 요청하는 것을 하나님은 들어주신다. 기도하지 않으니 응답이 없는 때가 많다. 그러나 구약의 제비뽑기처럼 전적으로 하나님의 뜻에 맡기며 기도하는 것이 오늘의 기도다. 허락해도 감사 거부 되도 감사다. 기도을 응답하지 않으시는 것도 응답이다. 더 깊은 뜻이 있으리라!

Observation and meditation on the text
Moses allowed the east side of the land when the 2 and a half tribes asked for. However, the west side of the land was distributed to the 9 and a half tribes by casting a lot (Num. 22:55). Casting a lot means to rely on God and obey it as God’s will.
I hear the voice of the Lord through QT
Before the 9 and a half tribes cast a lot, Caleb from Judah tribe asked Joshua to give him and his tribe the city of Hebron. Caleb was 85 years old, but he declared that he was as strong as the day Moses dispatched him 40 years ago, and if he received the land, he could drive the giants out of the land with God’s help.
Decisions and applications
God answers my prayer if I sincerely pray for my community. Since I don’t pray, I never get an answer many times. Therefore, today I must pray to God by believing whatever the answer may be that is God’s will for me as the O.T days’ casting a lot was done with the same faith. Therefore, either way I give thanks to God. No answer to my prayer itself is God’s answer. There must be more hidden God’s will for me when there is no answer.
