‘보아스는 기업 무를 자 예수의 모형’
1. 본문 관찰과 묵상
엘리멜렉의 친족 보아스는 룻과 그의 시모 나오미 가족을 사랑으로 보살폈다. 나오미가 듣고 룻에게 그는 “고엘,” 즉, 엘리멜렉 집안의 기업무를자라고 했다.
2. QT를 통해 듣는 주님의 음성
“기업무를자(고엘)” 란 가난한 친족이 팔아버린 땅을 다시 사주거나(레 25:25), 자녀없이 죽은 친족의 아내와 결혼해 대를 이어주는 예수의 모형이다.
3. 결단과 적용
나는 예수의 가족 중에 어려운 자를 보아스처럼 돕고 영적인 자녀를 갖도록 예수의 중매자가 되어 살리라.
오늘의 기도
“내가 하나님의 열심으로 너희를 위하여 열심을 내노니 내가 너희를 정결한 처녀로 한 남편인 그리스도께 드리려 고 중매함이로다” (고후 11:2). 주여, 나를 “영적인 기업무를자 (고엘)” 로 살게 하소서. 예수님의 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.
‘Boaz as a Typology of Jesus, our Goel (Kinsman-Redeemer)’
Ru. 2:17-23
1. Observation and Meditation
Boaz, who belongs to the same clan as Elimelek, takes exceptional care of Ruth and her mother-in-law, Naomi. Upon hearing of Boaz’s kindness toward Ruth, Naomi identifies him as a "Goel"—the guardian-redeemer for Elimelek’s family.
2. Hearing the Voice of the Lord through QT
The role of the "Guardian-Redeemer" (Goel) involves buying back a relative's field sold due to poverty (Lev. 25:25) or marrying the widow of a deceased relative to carry on the family name. In this, I see Boaz as a typology of Jesus Christ, who is my ultimate Goel. Jesus redeemed my life when I was spiritually bankrupt and brought me into His eternal family.
3. Decisions and Applications
I will support underprivileged families in the name of Jesus, reflecting the same sacrificial love Boaz showed to Ruth. I will live as a mediator, helping broken people find their way to Christ so that their spiritual genealogy may be restored through Him.
Today's Prayer
"I am jealous for you with a godly jealousy. I promised you to one husband, to Christ, so that I might present you as a pure virgin to Him" (2 Cor. 11:2).
Lord, please help me to live as a "spiritual guardian-redeemer." Empower me to lead the lost back to Jesus Christ, our ultimate Goel, so they may find restoration and hope. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
