‘과거를 돌아보며 미래로 나아가라’
본문관찰과 묵상
여호수아가 늙어 고별 설교했다. 첫째, 과거를 돌아보라. 우리 힘으로 이긴 것이 아니라 여호와가 우리 앞서 싸워 이겼다. 둘째, 그 은혜를 잊지 말고 기업으로 받은 땅의 우상숭배를 몰아내야 한다.
QT를 통해 듣는 주님의 음성
실패는 성공의 어머니다. 다시는 내 힘 믿고 자만하지 말아야 한다. 또 내게 승리주신 주님의 능력을 체험했으니 나의 삶에서 우상숭배를 몰아내지 않으면 또 실패한다.
결단과 적용
말씀대로 순종하는 한 사람이 천 사람을 이기도록 하나님이 함께 하신다는 약속을 주신다. 나의 힘을 빼자. 담대하게 주님만을 믿자. 주님이 나 한사람 앞서 싸워 주시면 천사람을 이길수 있다. ‘너는 칼과 창과 단창으로 내게 오거니와 나는 만군의 여호와의 이름 곧 네가 모욕하는 이스라엘 군대의 하나님의 이름으로 네게 가노라’ (삼상 17:45). 골리앗을 향한 다윗의 선포가 내 선포되게 하소서!

Observation and meditation on the text
When Joshua got old, he preached his farewell sermon. First, ‘look back the past, we did not win the victory with our power, but God fought for us ahead of us.’ Second, ‘you must not forget God’s grace for us and must drive out the idol worshipers out of the land you inherited.
I hear the voice of the Lord through QT
Failure should be the mother of success. I must be humble. Since I have experienced God’s mercy and power, I must debacle the idol worship in my own life. If not, I will fail again.
Decisions and applications
God promised that if I obey the Lord by faith, then God will enable me to rout a thousand. Therefore, I will not rely on my strength. I will adamantly and obstinately rely on the Lord boldly. If the Lord fights for me, then I can rout one thousand. David declared against Goliath: ‘You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel whom you have defied’ (I Sam. 17:45). Lord, let David’s declaration against Goliath be my own declaration against my enemies.
