‘하나님은 택한 자를 버리지 않는다’
본문관찰과 묵상
엘리야 시대에도 하나님은 7천명의 남은자가 있다고 했다. 하나님은 택한 자, 남은자를 결코 버리지 않는다. 바울도 하나님이 택했기에 변화시켜 사용하셨다.
QT 를 통해 듣는 주님의 음성
이스라엘 백성이 택함 받았지만 멸망한 이유는 육신을 따라 살았기 때문이다. ‘육신이 생각은 사망이요 영의 생각은 생명이다. 육신을 따르는 자는 하나님을 기쁘시게 못하고 원수가 된다.’ (롬 8:5-7).
결단과 적용
‘그리스도께서 너의 안에 계시면 몸은 죄로 말미암아 죽은 것이나 영은 의로 말미암아 살아있는 것이다’ (롬 8:10). ‘너희가 믿음에 있는가 시험해보라 그리스도께서 네 안에 계시지 않으면 너는 버림받은 자니라’ (고후 13:5). 주여, 내 안에 주인으로 좌정하소서! 예수가 온 세상을 다스려도 내 안에서 나를 다스려야 내가 삽니다!
‘God never forsakes the chosen’
Rom. 11:1-10
Observation and meditation on the text
God declared that there were 7,000 remnant in the time of Elijah. God never disowns the chosen, the remnant. Such a sinner like Paul was never forsaken by God but saved because he was chosen by God.
I hear the voice of the Lord through QT
The reason why the Israelites were destroyed by God even though they were chosen by God was that they were driven by fleshly desires. ‘The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life. Those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please God, but hostile to God’ (Rom. 8:5-8).
Decisions and applications
‘If Christ is in you, then even though your body is subject to death because of sin, the Spirit gives life because of righteousness.’ (Rom. 8:10). ‘Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ is in you. Unless, of course, you failed test?’ (I Co 13:5). Lord, please be enthroned as the Lord in my heart! Even though you reign over the universe, unless you reign me by residing inside of me, I am nothing and I am not alive!
