‘나도 요나단 같은 피난처가 되어 살라’
본문 관찰과 묵상
라마 나욧에서 다윗은 요나단에게 도망갔다. 요나단은 다윗의 피난처였다. 사울이 죽이려 하니 3일 동안 식사 자리에 나가지 않음으로 사울의 의중을 살펴달라고 부탁하였다. 다윗이 베들레헴에 급히 가려해 허락했다 하고 사울이 괜찮다 하는지 화를 내는지 알아보아 달라고 부탁했다.
QT를 통하여 듣는 주님의 음성
다윗은 자신이 죄가 있다면 친구인 요나단이 죽이라고 하였다. 요나단 같은 피난처 가 있는 사람은 복있는 사람이다. 더 복있는 사람은 요나단 같이 피난처가 되는 사람이다. 예수님이 나의 피난처기에 예수님이 있는 사람은 친구의 피난처가 된다.
결단과 적용
구약에는 ‘도피성’이 있었다. 피난처 되신 예수 그리스도의 모형이다. 다윗에게 요나단은 마지막 피난처 였다. 요나단은 자기 생명을 다하여 다윗을 살렸다. 예수님의 모형이었다. 예수로 피난처를 삼았으니 나도 누군가에게 피난처가 되어 살아가리라!

Observation and meditation on the text
David fled from Ramah Naioth to Jonathan. The last refuge for David was Jonathan. David asked Jonathan to figure out his father’s will as he would not attend the New Moons feast for 3 days. David asked Jonathan whether Saul would say Ok or get mad when he heard that Jonathan granted David to go to Bethlehem because David was in such a hurry.
I hear the voice of the Lord through QT
David asked Jonathan if he was guilty of anything against his father to kill him. Blessed are those who have a refuge like Jonathan. Much more blessed are those who are refuges like Jonathan. Since Jesus is my shelter and refuge, if Jesus Christ is in me, I shall become a shelter and refuge for others. I will live a refuge for a fugitive.
Decisions and applications
In the Old Testament days, there were ‘cities of refuge.’ It was a typology of Jesus Christ. Jonathan was the last refuge for David. Jonathan laid down his life for David. He was a typology of Jesus. Since I take a refuge in Jesus Christ, I shall live as a refuge for somebody too.
