‘침묵하며 하나님의 말씀에 순종하라!’
본문관찰과 묵상
하나님은 여리고 성을 이미 이스라엘에게 주셨다고 선포했다. 무장한 군사들이 앞장서고 그 뒤에 7제사장들이 양각나팔을 불고 그 뒤에 하나님의 언약궤, 그 뒤에 무장한 군사가 매일 한 바뀌씩 여리고 성을 침묵속에서 순종했다.
QT를 통해 듣는 주님의 음성
이스라엘은 광야에서 불평과 불만으로 하나님께 불순종했고 여호수아와 갈렙 외에는 가나안에 들어가지 못했다. 침묵하며 순종하라. 그리고 군사들 보다 가장 중심은 하나님의 언약궤다.
결단과 적용
모든 일은 하나님의 말씀, 임재가 중심이 되어야 한다. 그 말씀이 이상한 것 같아도 침묵으로 순종할 때 여리고는 정복될 것이다. 오늘까지도 나는 침묵속에 묵묵히 순종하고 있다. 어리석은 자다. 그러나 하나님이 하나님의 때에 여리고 를 무너뜨릴 줄 믿는다.

Jos 6:1-14
Observation and meditation on the text
God declared that the city of Jericho had already given to the Israelites. God ordered them to march around the city everyday for 6 days, and the 7th day 7 times. Up front the armed men were placed followed by the 7 priests with trumpets of ram’s horn followed by the Ark of the Lord and followed by the armed men. They marched in silence.
I hear the voice of the Lord through QT
The Israelites disobeyed God in the wilderness with complaints out of discontent. They were not allowed to enter Canaan except Joshua and Caleb. Obey God in silence without grumbling. And the power was not the army but the Ark of God, God’s words and presence.
Decisions and applications
Every ministry must be God and God’s presence centered. God’s order may be strange and abnormal at the beginning, but when I obey it the city of Jericho will be conquered. I have remained silent up to now. I may look foolish. However, I do believe that in God’s time, God will enable me to conquer my Jericho.
