‘마지막 때 깨어 기도해야 할 이유’  

1. 본문 관찰과 묵상

예수는 3명의 제자를 데리고 겟세마네 동산에 올라가 기도하셨다.   제자들에게 “깨어 기도하라”고 하셨다.  마지막 때 예수님이 가르치신 것은 깨어 기도함이다.

2. QT를 통해 듣는 주님의 음성

첫째, 시험을 미리 예방하기 위함이다.  둘째, 나를 향한 하나님의 뜻을 깨닫기 위함이다.  셋째,  기도하는 자는 주님이 힘을 도우시기 때문이다. 

3. 결단과 적용 

“만물의 마지막이 가까웠으니 그러므로 너희는 정신을 차리고 근신하여 기도하라” (벧전 4:7).  “근신하라 깨어라 너희 대적 마귀가 우는 사자같이 두루 다니며 삼킬 자를 찾나니 너희는 믿음을 굳게하여 저를 대적하라” (벧전 5:8-9). 

오늘의 기도

주여, 오늘도 내가 기도에 깨어있어  시험을 미리 예방하게 하소서!  하나님의 뜻은 내가 죽음으로 열매 맺기를 원하시니 잘 죽게 하소서.  예수님의 이름으로 기도합니다. 

‘Reasons why I must be alert to pray’

Mt. 26:36-46

1. Observation and Meditation

Jesus took his three beloved disciples to Gethsemane to pray. He challenged the sleeping disciples to "watch and pray." What Jesus taught and modeled for his disciples was the absolute necessity of prayer.

2. Hearing the Voice of the Lord

First, I must pray so that I do not fall into temptation. Second, I must pray to discern God’s will for me. Third, I am reminded that when I pray, Jesus strengthens me through His own intercession.

3. Decisions and Applications

"The end of all things is near. Therefore be alert and of sober mind so that you may pray" (1 Pet. 4:7). "Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour" (1 Pet. 5:8-9).

Today's Prayer

Lord, grant me a spirit of alertness and a sober mind. Do not let me sleep while the enemy prowls; instead, keep me awake in prayer to resist temptation. Just as You were willing to be crucified, help me to crucify my fleshly desires today. Teach me to "die well" to myself so that I might truly live for You. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
