‘언약을 지키는 자에게 주시는 축복’
본문관찰과 묵상
아모리 족속의 5왕이 연합해 기브온 을 공격했다. 여호수아를 속인 기브온 이었지만 여호수아는 저들과 맺은 조약을 지켰다. 하나님은 태양과 달도 머물게 하며 여호수아의 기도에 응답하셨다.
QT를 통해 듣는 주님의 음성
하나님은 한 사람의 기도를 들으시고 이스라엘 나라를 위해 싸워주셨다. 우박의 기적과 야살 의 책에 기록된 전무후무한 기적 을 일으켰다. 기브온에 속아서 맺은 조약이었지만 여호수아가 지켰을 때 하나님은 한나라를 위해 싸워 5나라를 진멸했다.
결단과 적용
나와 공동체를 대신해 하나님이 싸우시게 약속한 것을 지킬수 있게 인도하신 주님을 찬양한다. 나를 속인 자들이 처음에는 미웠지만 말씀에 순종해서 내가 프레임을 뒤집어 쓰고 고난 당해도 잠잠하게 감당하도록 나를 대신해 싸워주신 주님을 찬양한다. 내가 싸우면 하나님은 잠잠하고 내가 잠잠하면 하나님이 싸워주신다!!

Observation and meditation on the text
The 5 kings of Amorites joined to attack the people in Gibeon. Even though Joshua was deceived by them, he kept the peace treaty with them. God answered to Joshua’s prayer and let the Sun and the Moon stand still until Joshua completed to destroy the united armies.
I hear the voice of the Lord through QT
When God heard one man’s prayer, God began to fight for his nation, Israel. God performed such unprecedented miracles as hurling the hailstones and making the Sun and the Moon stand still. When Joshua kept the peace treaty with Gibeon who deceived him and tried to fight for Gibeon against the 5 united kings’ armies, it was God who fight against them till they were destroyed.
Decisions and applications
I praise the Lord who has fought for me and my community of faith when I was inspired to keep promises with some people even though they broke it. At the beginning, yes I hated them but I quietly kept the promises even though they put all kinds of false frames on me to suffer. I praise the Lord who has fought on behalf of me without responding to them at all. If I fight against any people, God remains in silence. But if I remain in silence in the middle of sufferings due to false accusations, God begins to fight for me. Thank you, Lord!
