‘위선자의 삶의 특징은 무엇인가?’
1. 본문 관찰과 묵상
서기관들과 바리새인들이 대표적 위선자였다. 사람에게 보이려고 “경문의 띄” 를 넓게, “옷 술은” 길게 했다. 그러나 말은 잘하나 말씀 순종은 없었다.
2. QT를 통해 듣는 주님의 음성
위선자들은 말씀대로 살지 않고 사람에게 보이려고 산다. 말은 잘 하나 말 한대로 살지 않는다.
자신을 높여 사람에게 랍비라고 칭함을 받는 것을 좋아한다.
3. 결단과 적용 “누구든지 자기를 높이는 자는 낮아지고 누구든지 자신을 낮추는 자는 높아지리라” (마 23:12). 예수님이 가신 낮은 자리에서 섬기며 살아 가리라.
오늘의 기도
주여 부지부식간 에라도 나를 높이지 않게 하소서. “무엇이든지 남에게 대접을 받고자 하는 대로 너희도 남을 대접 하라. 이것이 율법이요 선지자니라” (마 7:12). “그들의 열매로 그들을 알리라” (마 7:20). 오늘도 좋은 열매를 맺으며 살게 하소서. 예수님의 이름으로 기도합니다.
‘The Characteristics of Hypocrisy’
Mt. 23:1–12
1. Observation and Meditation
The Scribes and Pharisees served as the primary examples of hypocrisy. They focused heavily on external displays of piety, such as wearing wide phylacteries and long tassels on their garments, to ensure they were noticed by others.
2. Hearing the Voice of the Lord
Through this text, the Lord reveals that hypocrites prioritize outward "godliness" over inner transformation. They preach requirements to others that they do not follow themselves. They crave public recognition, such as being greeted with high respect in the marketplace and being addressed by titles like "Rabbi."
3. Decisions and Applications
Jesus teaches that "those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted" (Mt. 23:12). Today, I choose to follow the way of Jesus by seeking opportunities to serve others in quiet, humble ways rather than seeking the "high seat."
Today's Prayer
Lord, please guard my heart so that I do not unconsciously seek the spotlight or the praise of others. Help me to live by the Golden Rule: to do to others what I would have them do to me. May my life be defined not by my words, but by my fruit. Empower me to produce good fruit today that brings glory to You alone. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
